Are you right?
Only in part.
Many of the actions you condemn were performed by people who identified themselves as being truly Islamic. Until that issue is settled within the Islamic world, it cannot be clear to outsiders who does have "the true Islam".
To a large extent this *has* to be a job for those YOU see as true Muslims. When non-Muslims attack these extremists, verbally, politically or militarily, those attacked can paint it as an attack on "all Islam" and get an audience. Were they to be rejected, denied support, from within Islam, it would be a different matter.

On different grounds, however, though I do not hate Islam, Islam sees me as an enemy.
I would be most reluctant to openly declare my beliefs in an Islamic country, never mind attempt to convince anyone else to adopt them! And I do think that would be a good idea.
To that extent, though there is no hatred on my part, there is some irreducible conflict.
(It's alright, the Pope doesn't like my beliefs either, as he's recently announced, most clearly.)

Your question has a lot of false premises. First of all, if MOST whies hated Islam/Muslim there wouldn't be any left in America. They'd have legislated or vigilanteed them all out of the USA. People who are ignorant of the Islamic/Muslim faction are ignorant because they don't care, and their race isn't a factor. I'm sure blacks, hispanics and martians can be included in not caring about Islamic/Muslim and lots of other faiths. Try asking yourself why you are so biased against the Caucasian race. You can make progress with your own bigotry but you can't with anyone else's issues.

because all they see is bad behaviour from Muslims, did you know that there is a hadith where Muhammad said that the "adaab" (behaviour) of the Muslims is their "da'wah" (invitation to islam)? In other words, if a non-Muslim witnesses "Muslims" doing bad things then that is the invitation they've had to Islam, if Muslims are hated its their own fault. Did you also know that Jesus is credited as saying that "you know a tree by its fruit?" So if people only see terrorism, women and gay people treated badly, then that is what they will think Islam is about. If Muslims don't want to be seen this way then more people should be cracking down on anti-social behaviour that is so predominant in Muslim areas of majority non-Muslim countries. Did you ever hear of Palestinian Christian suicide bombers???!! Why not, they are treated the same as the Muslim palestinians, speaks for itself.

Islam has been used to justify some awful things. I understand the vast majority of Muslims are as opposed to those things as anyone else, and that a mainstream interpretation of Islam would condemn acts like terrorism. But that doesn't make the victims of terrorists any less dead, does it? And is it any consolation to the families of those victims that the terrorists aren't 'True Muslims'?
The fact is that Islam, like most religions, can be twisted to justify pretty well anything and to motivate people to do things they would otherwise consider horrible. Can you imagine a guy who doesn't believe in an afterlife blowing himself up?
Obviously most Muslims are not violent people, and they're in no way responsible for the violence of others who claim to follow the same religion. But Islam, and religion in general, have a lot to answer for.

I know you feel persecuted because of your beliefs. That is how thousands of Pagans feel everyday. But, people believe the sensationalized media more so than their own teachings. The television is most peoples "God" on earth. Many people have lost their ability to think for themselves and only take from their bibles, Qu'ran, or Torah that which they percieve to be truth to them and nothing more. I am sorry you have caught the backlash of the sensationalism the media portrays muslim, but you have to understand this as well, self proclaimed muslims (not the real ones I know) killed thousands on US soil and many Americans are still upset and angry. The same thing happened when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in Hawaii and the US put thousands of legal resident Japanese in internment camps for over 5 yrs. Not to just make sure that they would not sympathize with the enemy but to protect them from American vigilantes. Thousands of Americans wanted to do the same thing to Muslims, Iraquis, Pakistanians, Indians, and Asians of the Islamic faith. Feel a little better about your persecution here in the US because they did not go to that extreme but gave you the benefit of the doubt. I personally, do not look upon many of the Muslim faith as the extremists portrayed on the tv. I see them as peaceful and knowledgable of freedom and peace. There are some the area I live that I have reservations about but my neighbors and a couple of people I work with are those exceptions. We hope you do not feel the same way about us Pagans and that some Christians are just as fanatical as some of the extremists in the Islamic faith. No one is perfect and I accept that, but, we all have our own perceptions of cultures. Some people actually try to learn where others will accept gossip and stereotypes before actually getting to know a people. To me, that is just the lazy way out.
Blessed be and Peace

Well, the people that 'aren't real Muslims' cause a sh!t load of grief. The peaceful 'real Muslims' don't seem inclined to say anything much about their bad behaviour. And the Muslim countries have some serious issues with how sharia law is used to justify the oppression of women and minorities. Also, 'not real Muslim' men seem to have a real bad habit of raping the local girls in the Western countries they move to. Something about them asking for it because of they way they are dressed, I believe one imam likened them to 'uncovered meat'. The bombings don't help either.

Dont you think youre being a little paranoid, its a very small minority that believe all muslims are trying toi kill them,Just as it is the same the other way around,Most muslims are peaceful law abiding people and not killers. Also the people who do believe this to be true are wrong,Very wrong and they only beleive this cos they are ignorant and are prepared to believe everything the media has to say,Remember all news channels are biased one way or another,Not one news channel is 100% impartial.

Whoa, calm down cowboy. I know things suck like that, however if it makes you feel any better i dont think you are out to kill. Every religion has its extremists to make it look bad. Even my religion (Asatru) has its white supremacists who like to attach them selves to us. But right now look at it this way, the media is following the war going on, since american media gets most hits, people see what the american media says. And right now, they arent saying Islam/Muslim extremists, theyre just saying Islam/Muslim.

Unfortunately, people see only what the media tells them and with 9/11 and all the picture their painting isn't very nice. If its worth anything I don't hate Muslims, I just hate terrorists of any religion.
