After a week, the regular lotion will not harm it. The reason we don't want our clients to use lotions with fragrance has nothing to do with clogging pores. The more added to a lotion, the greater the chance of a reaction to a fresh tattoo.
Most recommend things like Lubriderm and Cetaphil, the latter being my favorite unless they are able to purchase Ink Fixx lotion. We give that out with our larger tattoos.
Joe is correct.

Although concern about clogging pores with a fragrance cream is a possibility, I know that excessive drying causes the scab to separate from the skin early enough to take some ink with it causing a "blotch" in the tat. Please check with female co workers as sometimes they have Vaseline to aid in makeup removal or any first aid cream.
if not, use a small amount of the fragrance cream (fragrance is just added to make it smell nice). Read the label for any warnings about open cuts/sores. I think u will be fine until u get home.
Good Luck

I wouldn't... lotions with fragrances are usually clogging to the skin, and the point of the ointment is to not only moisturize but help it heal. Maybe you should find out if any of your coworkers have vaseline or something.

yes. A&D ointment is not a magic potion. It's just vaseline with vitamins A&D added. Anything that keeps the tat moist
is fine, and after a week, you should be mostly healed anyway. The fragrance will not harm it. I have used my gf's lotion a number of times and they worked just fine.

I just used aloe lotion. It kept it moisturized and REALLY REALLY helped with the itching.
