If they held the same positions on the issues that I do, sure. If they were looking to eliminate or significantly reduce the income tax, wanted smaller government, and realized that half the stuff the government currently does should NOT be a function of government in the society we have. I"m in the US.

The religion of a politician is unimportant, so long as they are not public about it, and so long as it does not influence their political decisions.
I will vote for a politician on policies.

Absolutely, but that shouldn't be the only reason one votes.

But, the chances are very high that he will be a desirable candidate in all areas if he is a true Atheist.

Depending on their platform, yes. Religion has nothing to do with politics in Canada. WE are actually capable of keeping it separate.

No; we would have opposite values and beliefs. I wouldn't support someone who doesn't have faith in God.
