No books or websites I've seen on Irish place names mention the meaning of Shanvey. However, it is most likely an anglicized (or englished) form of Seanbheith meaning "Old Birch" in Irish Gaelic.

Beith (birch) from a Proto-Celtic *betva has cognates in other Celtic languages: Welsh bedw, Cornish bedewen, Breton bezvenn, Gallic betula and has left traces in several Romance languages: French - bouleau, Catalan - bedoll and Spanish - abedul.

Sean corresponds to Welsh hen, Latin senex and Old Armenian hin all meaning "old."
