Although the Chapter 19 in the Holy Quran, is named Soorah Maryam, in honor of Mary, the mother of Jesus.(p.b.u.h)

Allah has honored Mary, but its surprising to see many Christians actually not respecting the mother of the Respected Prophet of Allah.
This thus shows that Jesus is the Prophet of Allah, son of Mary and Allah has written the piousness of Marry in the Holy Quran.
Thus the Glory is of Allah Alone, He is the one and only God and Jesus was his Prophet.
Maryam (Mary) in the QuranThe Quran says (what means):"And (mention) when the angels said: ‘O Mary, indeed Allaah has chosen you and purified you and Chosen you above the women of all nations.’" [Quran 3: 42]
"Chosen you above the women of all nations" -- even the Bible does not mention such an honor accorded to Mary!

Yes, indeed Allah has honored Mary for all time, as He has honored her son, Jesus ( 'Isa) upon him peace! But the Glory and Praise is for Allah,Alone! For there is nothing equal to Allah, from any of His creation, for He liken the creation of Jesus to that of Adam, "...He but say,"Be", and it is!"

As far as I know, when the angel of the Lord brought the good news to Mary that she was to have a child and that His name will be Jesus, The angel gabriel said " blessed are thou among women and blessed is thy friut of thy womb, Jesus"
No "honor" was given to Mary the angel was just acknowledging the events that would take place.

The bible didn't even clear Mary of the calumny Jews had uttered against her (committing adultery).
Even Jesus, according to the bible, didn't show respect to his mother:
Joh 2:4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee?, mine hour is not yet come.
Also
Mar 3:32 And a crowd was sitting around him, and they said to him, "Your mother and your brothers are outside, seeking you."
Mar 3:33 And he answered them, "Who are my mother and my brothers?"

I don't believe that Mary is "honored" per say. It explains that she was obedient, pure, holy & without original sin on her soul. Which is why God chose her to be the mother of His Son. She carried our Lord, gave birth to Him, raised Him. Why not give her praise and glory?! She is the Virgin, Mother of God!!

Mary gets high marks in scripture for obedience. She is not really "honored". That is one of the many mistaken ideas of men.

it is funny how the quran speaks about mary being born, yet they don't believe Christ is our saviour? wierd because why would mary need to be born without sin? if Christ was just a prophet?
