I want to know how to prepare corn on the cob. I want it to be soft and easily chewable.Hope someone will give me a tried and proven receipe.

There are several ways to prepare corn on the cob. Microwave, boiling, roasting. I like to fold down the husk and wrap mine with a slice of bacon. Then you fold the husk back up, tie it at the top and roast it in the oven or grill. Takes about 45 minutes this way and the bacon gives it a great flavor.

To boil it, place your corn in a pot with plenty of room so you can cover the corn with 2 or 3 inches of water. Bring to a boil, and let boil gently for 25 minutes or so. Keep checking as it cooks, when the kernels are soft it is done. Remove from pot, smear with butter, salt and serve.

I boil it in a covered pan of plain water, (sometimes with a teaspoon of sugar in it)
for about 10-12 minutes.
Shut off the stove & always let it steam for about 20-30 minutes. An old woman from the South told me it brings the natural moistness out of the cob & helps make the kernels nice & soft & sweet. It has never failed for me for many years.

I learned from my daughter the easiest and sure way of cooking corn on the cob is:
Leave everything on it and put it in the microwave.
6 ears of corn, is what I cook at one time. Set it for 10 minutes.
It is so tasty and tender, yet firm.
A minute or two longer if you like it softer.

I usually make it one of three ways. The first is by boiling it in water until it is tender to the touch. The second is to cut the ears in half and steam them in a steamer over a pot of water. The third is to wrap them in aluminum foil adn put a pat of butter on them adn grill them.

I actually prefer mine from the freezer, and its a case of 5 minutes in boiling salted water and its ready. Or grill from frozen. This way I don't need to lash it in butter, as it is lovely and tasty as it comes from the grill.

drop in boiling water with 1 tsp sugar in the water, boil for 10-12 minutes...... pull each ear out and put butter and salt/pepper on the corn while it is still very hot.... mmmmm sounds really good!!!

First, Preheat oven to 375*, Then coat your corn with a thin layer of veggie oil, sprinkle light coat of sugar, place on sheet of foil, add 1tbl spoon butter. Wrap foil, Place in oven for 30 to 45 minutes. check with tooth pick, add 10min if needed to be softer. Enjoy.

Boil it in water and poke with fork every 5 min.
When soft, take it out and sprinkle salt or sugar over it, and spray or pour over with butter. (for sodium free don't use salt or butter) = )
