i've always heard this saying from my friends father......

It helps sometimes to find a truth but on a long run it does not work.

There's truth in wine, like the others have said.
In Tequila, however, there is truth and a lot of entertainment!

In vino veritas. In wine is truth. It means when ppl drink, they have a tendency to let down their guard and say things they wouldn't normally say.
And yes, I believe it's true.

I wonder if he meant "In wine is truth" (Latin "In vino veritas".
That is a true saying because after a few drinks inhibitions slip away and we say what we really think without regard to others feelings.

yeah, I drink dry red wine, and 1800 Tequila. i always tell the truth, even when i lie.

Absolutely, especially red wine, it lubricates the brain and loosens the tongue.

Your father's friend sounds like the "molester uncle" that everyone has. Don't drink the wine he is offering you. No means no! (Unless you are perverted and like that sort of thing)
