What is the point of everlasting life? I'm serious! Think about it. What is the point of living forever in Heaven? Are you going to be playing racketball in Heaven for all eternity, sipping Pina Coladas and having breakfast in bed? What is the point of being around for over 1 trillion years potentially?

Since humans naturally fear death, it seems that heaven is just a way to believe you will live on, that death is not final. Just imagine yourself living for 5, 10, 15 trillion years, which is even then, not an eternity. What are you going to do in heaven.....for eternity?

What is the point?

poopfungus- Your response was grossly immature. But considering your name, its hardly surprising.

Well, though I do share your sentiments, I believe that time isn't so linear as it is for us. Different concept. Yes, it is a thing to hope on, so that people feel more secure in their deaths.

Read revelation the last book of the bible. If you have access to a KJV rainbow Bible, use it.
From what i have read we wont spend eternity in heaven.
If you are saved, if you die before the "rapture" you will spend some time in heaven, to be absent from the body is To be present with the Lord.
When the rapture occurs we will reign with Christ in His kingdom here on earth.
if your not "saved" you will spend eternity in the lake of fire.
And the reason most people fear death is because they don't have a relationship with Christ. I cant even fathom what it will be like, to be honest i cant wait.
Why take a chance, where would you want to spend eternity.
in a place where there is no more pain, death, sorrow etc.
or in a place where the fire is never quenched, where you will be very aware of whats going on, where you will hear wailing and gnashing of teeth, where you will forever be tormented. Where you will thirst but never be able to drink water, you WILL be very much aware. God bless you

Hello!
Do you think the God who created all things including your human soul which He activated at the moment you were born' would have a boring lifestyle, waiting for those who arrive into the splendors of heaven!
The believer in Jesus Christ has the assurance of everlasting life and joy in the presence of the eternal God Mathew 25:46 John 8:51.
And rests in the knowledge during this life"the eternal God is a dwelling place", Deut33:27.
Take care!
Have a Merry Christmas.

im not christian so whatever my beliefs are may or may not coincide with theres
however the term everlasting life is taken too literally

it may be better to believe that we are all on earth to experience and grow into perfection

or to become perfect like god therefore to become gods ourselves

the logic to this one is that we arent born all knowing. such as how could we experience hate or murder in the all good perfect heaven

so we come to earth to learn such bad things. this also falls to the pretense that nothing is good nor bad, and that it just is.

what may be bad to one such as rape to the victim would be good to the perpetrator.

so everlasting life may mean we live lifetimes on earth to gain perfection to there for become perfect souls like god.and to experience all and all that is.

possibly we even get a turn to become god

such as whats the point of working hard if not to be promoted to manager and then owning your own bussiness.

as for fearing death, i dont think heaven is an escape from reality, as what is there to really fear in death? science has proved that its not a misery to be dead, you just exstinguish.

even in ancient eras death was blessed and not condemed, its only been that way in the last 100 years or so due maybe to all the phobias humans now experience more commonly.

possibly boredom is an experience only on earth plane and not in heaven, therefore it wouldt be so bad existing forever.

i got a question, why are you so against others beliefs. or are you just using your free will?

If you read your Bible only the chosen ones will live in heaven
I believe i will live on earth again and it would be better than sipping pina colada or breakfast in bed even playing racket ball and to live for eternity what a good life that would be

I don't fear death so, that has nothing to do with why I believe in life for eternity. I believe we have many lives and levels before we reach peace for eternity. Here in this life, I love my family more than anything in this world and I will never be ready to say good bye. The thought of reuniting with my children, husband, and family and being with them forever is a beautiful thought to me. My vision of Heaven is much different than yours.

life in heaven is not the same as life on earth. actually heaven's really different, cuz God is there.. that's the point of having a heaven really, you get to be with Him eternally, purely loved and truely happy. you base what you think of happiness in heaven on success, simple pleasures, and life everlasting, but what God offers you there is a life of security and content. you will never feel inferior, alone, or unloved there.. now do you understand why getting into heaven is so important to most people? everyone would desperately want to live forever in that state after living a battered life on earth.. besides it's not boring there... i believe God has alot more in His sleeve to entertain us there compared to what earth has to offer.

What is the point of only living for 60-120 years?

What is the point of suffering before death so long without knowing there is something better ahead?

I doubt there is anyone who can say why heaven is better, except that the alternative sounds much worse to me.

We do not know what awaits us in heaven. It is a spiritual realm.

In heaven, there will be no time, so eternity won't seem like a long time. I'm planning on keeping real busy in heaven--not just sitting on a cloud strumming a harp.
All of us were created with immortal souls, even those of us who are not going to heaven.

Sweetie you fear death! I do not. I have no fear for anything. Life by Gods side is not what you imagine it to be. And if you could be happy for ever would you not want that? If you could have a perfect life would you not want that. Everlasting life is not necessarily a real flesh and blood life. It does beat the alternative though!

The point of live ever lasting in heaven is for no more pain, war or tragedy. To spend it with lost ones and loved ones, To be with Jesus for eternity. To walk to the streets of gold. I am afraid of death but its because I dont know if I am going to go to heaven or if its going to hurt. I am not afraid of death, I am afraid of not knowing.
