In this day in age mankind should well understand that all life is equally priceless. Will you not drop your weapons/religions and respect one another as living beings? Will you see someone as a neighbor and not an enemy because of politics and religious teachings? Will you lay down your weapons as I have done and search for peace and enlightenment? I lay my weapons before you at this moment, I shall no longer be a judge but be a living being and enjoy my life. Who among you shall joy me in obtaining your happyness and dreams?

Ozzy: Even if all mankind doesn't follow you lead by example not by following. There will always be a rebel and their will be opposing opinions and in those you will find your strength to progress in your life and learn to live outside of rules. 8) May your spirit grow strong in the world.

When you see someone as an enemy you envoke fear within yourself and you build ideas which cause destruction. If you claim no enemy you shall see no war. War is fought by 2 parties not 1.

Wow, Lucifer.... I couldn't agree more with your point here and I desire your vision as much as you do. Unfortunately, neither politics or religious teachings will allow for this to happen, so the only way it would be possible is for everyone to separate themselves completely from both (except for maybe the Buddhists), but I think you already know that. The only way I was able to find my peace and enlightenment was to step away from both and take a good long look at my own heart and how it spoke to me. Maybe at least some who read your question will walk away with point well taken. One can only hope....

And Baptist (yeah, I know that's you) I have yet to see this particular Lucifer be a backstabber. Please do not judge people based on their screen names...I haven't judged you based on yours, whichever one you choose to use.

I'm with hush/ash up there.. I never pick up weapons in 1st place. But I guess u mean to ask what if we had.. yes, I'd lay them down. I'd probably picked them up in 1st place to protect the people I love most from being injured coz no one goes down without a fight given a choice.

No matter what, everyone deserves to live and forgive and be forgiven. So I pray all wars will end soon.

Many of the religions in America need to find a truce. If it's just Christians finding truce with other Christians, and not including minority religions like Judaism, Buddhism and Neopaganism, then a truce could only be harmful... because you have a coalition of attackers on thoughts held by fewer people.

It is pretty much spot on. People argue against it because they hate Israel and they hate Jews. Those same people who are so happy to argue against the "poor palestinians" don't seem to realize that if they themselves (unless they are muslim) were in "palestine", they might well be the target of extreme violence or if they realize it they don't care because they are not there and Jews are. I also find it astounding that most people who go on and on about the "plight" of the "poor palestinians" have never been to Israel and never been to "palestine". They just know they hate Jews and so anything that goes against Israel or the Jewish people is a good thing.

I think it's a wonderful idea - individuals committing themselves to peace instead of hate.

I believe it is better to raise shields than lower weapons.

Then you're a chump, and you'll forever be at the mercy of those who choose not to lay down your weapons.

Your idea only works if we are unanimous in our support of it; and, humans being individuals, that simply isn't going to happen...
