In case you are Indian & live in India but you both belonging to different religion can marry in the court without changing your individual religion. Court marriage as you call it is solemnized under the Special Marriage Act, 1954 all such marriages can take place between any two Indian citizens as well one Indian citizen with a foreigner irrespective of their religion, caste or creed, and you can say this is the secular form of marriage available in our country. Such a marriage is solemnized before the marriage officer/registrar usually D.C. deputy commissioner of the area (Sub registrar/SDM is the marriage officer/registrar only in case the already solemnized marriage under any other Act has to be registered) where both or any of the parties to such a marriage reside permanently or for at least one month. Cost of such a marriage as the rate prevalent in your area. Now how you proceed? Both the parties to the marriage file a joint application before the marriage officer along with individual affidavit attested by notary public specifying the age(boy 21yrs &girl 18yrs), place of residence, marital status(unmarried or divorcee as the case maybe), mental status(not idiot or not with unfit mind), not related to each other. Along with this you have to give proof of age (School certificate, Passport, Pan card), proof of residence (Passport, ration card, voters ID card, rent agreement), & the application of such a marriage should be witnessed by 3 independent adult persons, affix one photograph of each of the parties & all the 3 witnesses. You have made such an application/notice to the marriage officer in person along with all the 3 witnesses. On receiving such an application the marriage officer issues a month notice regarding the intended marriage & get such a notice affixed on the notice board out side his office, a copy of such notice is sent to the marriage officer under whose jurisdiction the other party lives, also a copy is to the individual parties address. After expiry of the period of notice a date is fixed on which all the persons parties to the marriage & 3 witnesses appear again before the marriage officer who declare them married & issue a certificate to this regard. Incase of any objections raised the marriage officer will settle these objections. Now what can be objections that can be raised? These can ONLY BE REGARDING THE CONDITIONS NECESSARY FOR SUCH MARIAGE & NOTHING ELSE. What are the conditions? As I stated above i.e. Age, martial status, mental status, prohibited relationship (related to each other by blood). This is the brief procedure I have told you here, incase you want any clarification you can ask.

Hey friend ..

I can understand ur position ya, but for this anyone of you have to convert from ur religion to the other one if you are really love ur boyfriend viceversa, there shouldnot be any ego/clash between you both..

One can change and you can marry, else forget ur religion and go to any of ur temple and get marriage over there,
Onething you have to realize marriage is only to show the soceity that you both are couples but by heart, when you both fall in love with each other its the real marriage..

So you are already married by hearts now you are going to get marriage for society only, so you can manage of yourself.

You both have to think and should take a correct decision, and my heartly wishes for your happy journey in your life and career...

All the Best Guys.............

Are you Indians ?
Christians will insist upon converting the bridegroom into
Christianity, so also the Muslims.
If both of you are majors, and are not dependents , better
go to a Registrar's office along with witnesses..Get married
You can follow your religion and your friend can follow
his religion, as long there are no problems of your understanding of each other
Simple.

Islam is nothing but new version of christianity. It believes in Jesus and all other messengers that came before and after Jesus. Unlike bible which varies from christian sect -sect, the quran (final revelation) is the same wherever you go. No edition, or any alteration you will find in the quran. So in other words you are half muslim already.

Nothing wrong with that.. My boyfriend is also Islam, well, self-proclaimed basically as in he doesnt go to the mosques or anything like that, and I was raised Methodist, I am white, he is black.

Love is love no matter what religion, race, gender you are!

Move to an Islamic country. Then get married. By the time he has his fourth wife, you will have forgotten all your troubles.

You and the other wives can have so much fun together.

Religion shouldn't have anything to do with it. Could you have two ceremonies? Does it matter to each of you to get married in your own religious ceremony? If not, then forget it and just get married. It shouldn't be a barrier for your love for one another.

My hubby and me have been married for all most 7 years..he's chrisitan and i am not. i will remain a non-christian. We make it work because when it all comes down to it. We believe in the same creator source. how we choose to worship or identity that loving creator is individual choice. I would suggest that you embrace some of his beliefs and you have him embrace some of yours. Many houses are blended religiously. Good Luck.

did u realise this when both of you fell in love?
why do u bother now?

either get away from him and keep ur parents cool

or

marry him and keep ur parents under pressure.

my opinion is u can leave him. I am writing this after seeing the troubles and problems faced by persons who cheated their parents and got married to different caste or religion.

It is easy to get married to him soon, but the life after may not be wonderful.

think wise & decide.

Marry someone Christian - make sure to marry someone of the same religious beliefs - this is HUGE especially when raising children.
