1. reading/spelling because you use this every day of your life
2. Math 99% of jobs require some sort of math skills
3. Computer skills Every thing is going to be computerized in the near future so get prepared now
4. Government/History Everyone should know at least the basics on these subjects can't tell you how many people i know that don't know who won the civil war
5. Science you should know the the basics but not really that important unless you are trying to get a job that requires it

Number 1 would be compassion, an open heart that sees connection to all beings.
Number 2 is respect for life (caretaking the environment and respecting others).
Number 3 is service and generosity to others.
Number 4 is humor and the ability to enjoy life.
There are many others, of course, but these will help a child to grow into a resourceful and wonderful adult, one who gives back to the world.
Of least importance is teaching consumerism and mindless acceptance of society's empty values.

Of course they need some basic emotional and social skills before they can learn anything academically.
They also need literacy skills before they can learn anything academic at all.
3. Geography, Science, History, Creative arts, Technology
These are all important. . But not as important as literacy and numeracy.

I feel children should mostly be taught on how to Carry themselves more respect for themselves and others discipline not abuse but what when and where because i feel it would be a better world if they were taught more manners and how the bible can teach you that.
