The Exorcist I saw it when I was a teen with a few friends that had seen it before and they kept telling me to 'watch this part' and they were the worst parts... the parts where I would have closed my eyes. To this day it still haunts me when I think of it. Thanks for the reminder. Guess I'm here at Y answers longer tonight...

Used to be The Shining. I saw an advert for it on tv and it scared the Hell out of me. Then it was The Exorcist (pretty horrible I thought). But now the scariest is Dead End. It reminds me of a bad dream I had once.

Exorcist. Confirmed. My reactions has been the same since the first time I watched it when I was younger, and I'm 29 now. Weeks after watching the movie, the lights will still be on in my bedroom when I sleep. Too good of a scary movie to the point of mental torture!

Odishon (Audition)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0235198/

What stuck with me was the look of complete innocence and almost glee on the girls face as she tortures and dismembers the man alive..

and

Clockwork Orange

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066921/

The rape scene I found myself horrified but at the same time I couldn't look away (Kubrick was a master filmmaker)

Both movies stuck with me for a long time after seeing them..

For me the scariest movies deal with mans inhumanity toward man..

Exorcist ! Beyond any doubt was the scariest movie ever made because it dealt with those ideas that have been around for centuries.
