My parents want to get me set up with D-TV for X-mas. I was thinking of getting Verizon Fios instead. What is better price wise? Is it worth letting my folks pay for the initial instalation? Then I would pay the monthly charge? Or should I stick with the Fios? I don't really do any fancy stuff like HDTV or record prog's. I just like to watch whatever is on. Help!

I've HAD THEM ALL....

Dish -- Direct TV...Dish Wins in Satellites....

Comcast --- Verizon Fios.....Verizon Fios wins

Now BETWEEN THE TWO....

Verizon Fios still wins for picture clarity...It's better with low definition Video on a Hi Def TV....

It's Super clean....

Now the down side is you must wait for Verizon to ADD new channels instead of INSTANT ON with satellite......

from experiance i use dish satelite in florida.any satilite for tv in my opinion sucks for several reasons. one is in florida for 6 months we have summer rains and thunder storms which constantly cause outages like a dropped phone call, this does not happen on a cable network like comcast. also all these company know exactly what the others charge and will try to suck you in for every penny and foolish charges. when you subscribe to any know exactly what you are paying and getting for your money and expect to have to make many phone calls to straighten out your bill.i also advise you when placing a order tell them noooooo subcontractors and only send you reps that speak english. i am not familiar with fios in florida.also many of these companys will not charge for installation. be carefull and have a pen ready and get names.
