The neoconservatives (not, as you point out, real conservatives) are beginning to realize the drastic mistake they made. They became so wrapped up in their political rhetoric they forgot that an attempt to discredit scientific findings by the use of censorship and political propaganda cannot work.
They tied much of their credibility into the propaganda blitz that "global warming ws jsut a myth." Now--they are facing the fact that in so doing, they acheived the exact opposite of what they intended: they look like the fools they are and they have simmply made liberals and Democrats look good! LOL

I am a liberal who disagrees with the "oh my God dangerous global warming" scare I acknowledge there are climate changes taking place on Earth including warming of some areas, and I would point to the warming/cooling cycles in the past as proof of this being something relatively natural and not a cause for alarm bells Other planets have different atmospheres and their warming is unrelated to ours, I must disagree I don't think people directly are causing a global warming crisis as portrayed by Al Gore. Al Gore is a loser, he lost. The fact is that farming causes more greenhouse gases than industry and many of the stories about Northwest Passage or Kilimanjaro snow have been completely debunked. Just because we are not at the brink of destruction doesn't mean we shouldn't help the environment. We should recycle, limit waste, develop alternative fuels, and protect habitats and environments. Don't just tell me "do this or the world will burn up in 100 years" because there's no evidence of that extreme to the warming trend.

It's not the mention of global warming that's the problem. Global warming has been going on for a very long time, and has been very beneficial to the human race.
The problem is with the half-baked plans and "chicken little" rants the likes of Al Gore go off on. The problem is with this desire to destroy the world's economies ( causing the death of untold millions ) because MAYBE, if every little thing goes as bad as possible ( or even slightly beyond possible ) we MIGHT have some problems.
Yes.. there is evidence the polar ice sheets are melting. But ( which you amazingly "forgot" to mention ) there is also hard evidence that the Antarctic ice sheet is growing.

Because conservatives see AGW for what it is, a reason for socialist to redistribute the wealth (not that they need a reason). Yes we understand the earth is warming. It has done so in the past and will do so again. There is no scientific evidence showing that man is the primary cause, and yet the leftist use this cause as a reason to take the wealth and redistribute.

It's not that we do not care about the environment, but we also realize the reality of the situation. If we start having mandatory caps and such, this will cause extreme hard ache for many and possible deaths. The goals of the UN and others are totally ridiculous. They themselves admit that cutting our CO2 levels will do nothing, and yet they continue to demand on "global taxes".
If the AGW fanatics would debate the issue, then more and more people would understand the issue. But, when was the last time any main stream media outlet presented both sides of the situation? To my knowledge, never. If the "scientific evidence" really supported their side, they would be happy to debate the issue in front of the world. Instead, they continue to hide behind the "consensus" and "all questions are answered" answer. If this were the real case, why then are many of their theories and models proven wrong time and time again?
Individuals who are confident in the truth do not hide behind non-answers such as "consensus" and "the debate is over". These are the words of people trying to hide something.

Conservatives are not upset at the mention of global warming, we are upset by the blind acceptance of so many without any skepticism at all that it is being caused by man and can somehow be "fixed" by doing damage to the economies of the Capitalist nations of the world. Many Conservatives are older people like me. We have been around long enough to recognize the scare tactics used by people with a very Anti-America, Anti-Capitalist agenda.
That's all.
By the way- Take it from an wise old man, the Global Warming alarmists are about to change course on you. I have already noticed them subtly interjecting the next "take" on the issue since the planetary weather systems refuse to cooperate with their Global Warming scenarios. The next approach will soon be making an appearance. It is that Carbon Dioxide levels are too high and detrimental even if they do not cause Global Warming or any warming related catastrophes.
So you see, they already realize that the skeptics are gaining ground and the evidence is stacked against them. So, phase two is about to commence. Let the deniers disprove every single allegation regarding global warming. The scammers will simply change to another looming environmental disaster.
PLEEASE!
Merry Christmas!

Because man made global warming is a hoax. They want to use it to tax the US and ruin its economy. What will a BTU tax do except give more money to bureaucrats to spend or more trips to Bali and Honolulu for climate meetings. Why not video conference to save all that jet fuel. After all Al Gore claims to have invented the Internet as well.
The ozone layer healed itself, new research finds no evidence that cfc's had anything to do it with it.

We aren't upset because people mention Global Warming, it's when we get hit over the head with it day in and day out by the media, from Television stars that are more liberal than the day is long. And it isn't even the idea of Global Warming, it's the fact these people believe in Anthropogenic Global Warming, which is the biggest farce of them all.
I love how Scientists try to claim that they know how fast these changes happened to the earth in the past. Get real! They weren't around for any of those changes. And to say that Ice Core Data is irrefutable is insane at best.
So why don't you people that are in denial that its a Natural Cycle of the planet we live on, do your own research and stop acting like sheep? It's sickening to keep seeing people follow along blindly without knowledge of the planet they live on.
Edit: I love make believe, that's why I write fantasy novels. I just don't like make believe being stated to be reality, when it comes to the planet we live on.

You got it! You understand! The Earth's climate is constantly changing. It is warming, but we are not the cause. Nor can we do anything aboout it. Later, it will cool.
The reason "conservatives" get upset is because "progressives" want everyone to pay for it. It is another way to control the daily lives of people.
Al Gore perpetuates the fear of the comming of the end and he profits on it. Deplorable. He owns the company that is trading in "carbon offset credits". That is a way for the rich tree huggers to justify flying around in private jets and traveling in a caravan of SUV's and gas guzzling sports cars. In this way, their concerned followers will still listen to them and believe the message.

You answered your own question. It is hard to not get upset when you get so many members of a political party take the words of a blithering idiot seriously. He said a degree or two of warmth will destroy the planet. The antarctic ice sheet is expanding. It varies over time as does the sea level. It is not conservatives that deny obvious realities and spin them into some sort of new Global Warming Doomsday Cult.

Most conservatives do not deal with make believe very well, like for instance, as liberals always dream, lets pass a couple of laws, set some rules for industry and Shazaam! we will have alternative energy with no CO2 emissions. And then when they are questioned about the risks of such a foolish suggestion they say, of course it won't cause a global depression that just can't happen.
EDIT:
I'm with you sweety.
