In genesis, God created the tree of knowledge and told Adam that if he ate the fruits from it he would die. Would a loving parent leave such a dangerous object in reach of his children? If God is all knowing he would have foreseen that Adam and Eve would eat from the tree and did it in purpose. Why would he wish such suffering on mankind? Is God evil?

Am I serious about what? Do I need to dumb it down a bit?

I have a question for Jim here: if knowledge= understanding, how could Adam and Eve truly have understood what God told them if they hadn't yet eaten from the Tree of Knowledge?

----
great question, by the way!

The answer to your question is obvious. I grew up around several children who had access to guns and used them responsibly during hunting season. This was with the permission of their parents.

Adam & Eve were *adults*. The guy who *created* them *and* the tree told them that it would kill them if they ate it. They understood.

So, yes, a loving parent would leave any number of dangerous objects within reach of their children, once the children were old enough and mature enough and responsible enough to know the consequences of misusing such an item.

God did *not* wish suffering on mankind. As is *clearly* indicated by your own question, he warned them of the consequences. In other words, he gave them *every* opportunity to avoid the "suffering". He planted a garden full of edible plants *just* for them, and then warned them against eating the *one* thing that would kill them.

Clearly, God is very considerate, very compassionate, very good and very concerned about the fate of his creation, man.

Isn't it obvious?

that isn't be the terrific analogy, or we would not be finding on an analogous dynamics. The duty in question there is between the state and the relatives. The state holds the mum and dad accountable. The tree concern became into between God and Adam/Eve, or on your analogy, between the discern and the toddler, not society, the regulation, or different outsiders. If the discern informed the toddler to not touch it in develop and pronounced there would be outcomes and the neighbor's toddler (serpant?) informed the toddler to do it, and the toddler even picked it up, not to show used it, the discern would blame the toddler. average, I see what you assert and say it extremely is a valid component. in terms of the international vs. God, or the society vs. the discern, the discern, or God consequently, is finally accountable, understanding that the toddler or Adam and Eve weren't able to appearing responsibly decrease than this sort of situation. of direction, the genuine component of the attempt would have been to instruct that Adam and Eve weren't able to obeying this sort of request different than for God, and that they mandatory some sort of protecting (risk-free practices, management, preparation?). substantial advance frequently comes after a humilitating fall. it extremely is like interior the army. A drill seargeant is there to break you down and then rebuild you. i've got self assurance that God works an analogous way. we could attain a component the place we come to the tip of ourselves and comprehend how "bare" and helpless we actually are. Then we are waiting to succeed in exterior of ourselves to offer us the potential that we don't have.
