"Like" is when the other person gratifies you.
"Love" is when you are seeking to gratify the other and do whatever is in his or her best interest (even if that best interest is not you).

To like someone depends on favorable circumstances that would result in a positive feeling toward a person. Love however continues even when a person isnot likable or lovable for that matter. This is because love is other person focused where their best intrese is sought after , not ones own.
I like someone when I feel as if they respect me and treat me kindly ect...When I am loving someone in the truest sense, it is when I can truly take care of them when they can do nothing for me in return( and I don't remind them of that fact). Love is a hard thing to do, But it is something we all need because we all mess up a lot.
Love allows us to forgive when we don't like people so we can put hurt behind us. Love allows us to encourage others who are worse off than we are.
Love is so concrete and steady it can hardly be compared to the mere emotional high of liking someone. Of course, love will also become known because we like to be around those we love.

I'm not sure there is a 'line', per se. You can love someone without actually liking them, and you can like someone without actually loving them. I would say 'liking' means you enjoy (or think you would enjoy) being around the person, but loving them means you would feel very, very sad if they ever left your life.
Love comes in many forms, not just romantic. You can also love someone without beng IN LOVE with them, but sometimes the two are really easy to confuse. I would guess that time is the only thing that can tell for sure.

Say someone was in a relationship that lasted 1 year or so...
However, after the relationship ended the person knew from then on that they absolutely could not stand the person.
To me - that would be a "like"
Love goes on...cliche that may sound. =]

When I like someone I enjoy their presence.
When I love someone, I learn from them, respect them, and sometimes let myself need them.
I am having a hard time explaining this one.

'like' may be beginning of 'love'. Love is total surrenderance, comes more from subconscious mind. You don't use logic in love. Thats why people go mad in love. 'like' is much controlled emotion and is governed primarily from conscious mind.

first of the the line between like and love is the line that u and only you would draw it.
u might say i am dreamer i might be but this is what i think
-------------------------
when you like someone you are ready to do anything for them. ****you use ur logic****
when you love some one you are ready to die for them. **** you use ur heart****
========================
like <--------------------------------> love
= equals =
Logic <---------------------------> heart
========================
when you love someone there is no logic to it and u always do things when you feel about it and u listen to ur heart
=======================
when you like someone u try to take every step with ur mind and u plan to do what next
