I would be working out daily, mostly cardio, some weights, and eating healthier. I'm 18, 5'4'' and 150 pounds. Would this be possible?

I know it's not healthy to lose weight this fast, and I do not intend on obtaining an eating disorder to accomplish this fast weight loss, I just want to know if it would be possible.

Also, I'm planning on going tanning every other day during this time period, and I've heard that tanning boosts metabolism, so would that help?

I'm a dancer, and I'm pretty muscular, would that by any chance make it easier? I am trying to lose weight for nationals in January.

Tanning does nothing to boost metabolism. More muscles = faster metabolism. Tanning only acts on the topmost skin pigment and can cause skin cancer.

Why not try the spray on tans. They are safer.

I would suggest you stop looking at the scale. As you work out more, you will lose less weight because you are building muscles at the same time. Muscles weight more than fat so even though you lost 10 lbs of fat and gain 5 lbs of lean muscles, you will weight almost the same.

So basically, watching your weight is not the correct and accurate way to know how much fat you lost. The correct way is to use a tape measure. Measure the areas you want to lose and aim for that target.

If you want to be leaner, I would suggest you increase the iintensity of the cardio. If you're jogging 30 minutes at a 1 kilometer try to reach another few meters in the same amount of time. Keep on increasing when you're comfortable at the current level.

Being female, don't add too much weights just add more repetitions or sets (unless you want to have more muscles than your boyfriend).

Keep on eating healthy, drink lots of water and take the weekends off. Rest is also as important as exercise.

Cheers. ^_^

Basing my answer on experience i can tell you that it's very possible. When you first begin a diet and start to exercises daily, you'll realize that in the first week you should shed at least 2-3 kilos and then hopefully in the coming weeks you may achieve the same result. But after your bodies gotten use to the weight loss that's when losing weight will get harder, you may only lose 1 kilo a week. But following your plan and eating a little less and healthier each day, could lead you to lose about 10 to 15 pounds. good luck =D

Yes... It is posible to lose 10-15 pounds in 3 weeks. It depends on the amount of weight you need to lose. If you are grossly obese then it will come off faster than if you only need to lose 10-15 lbs total. But a healthy way is to drink alot of fruit and vegetable juices with a couple of tablespoons of protein powder added to it so as to sustain your body while fasting.. Keep busy physically by doing some situps etc and then see the lbs melt away. hopefully just fat though not muscle. good luck and god bless. ps fasting is good for you to relieve the stomach of so much heavy eating done throughout the year so you can afford to fast about once every 3 months or so to give yourself a little vacation from food . it lifts your spirits and gives you a new lease on life. talk to you soon.

Yes, you can lose that much weight. You'll also throw off your metabolism, blood chemicals and run the real risk of dehydration. Most weight lose programs talk about 1-3 pounds a week as the most that can be safely taken off.

Even if you did reach your goal the odds of putting the weight back on is almost certain.

By mentioning an eating disorder, it sounds as you have looked into some of the actions people with such disorders take to lose weight. It's possible to start off with the best intentions and then, when the initial weight lose slows, start doing some of these actions

I have no idea about the tanning.
Women and men lose weight differently, but when I started taking care of myself I lost 35lbs the first month. I started out at 270 and dropped to 235 in a month. I wasn't really trying to lose it all so quickly, it just sort of happened.
Just make sure you lose weight the healthiest way possible. Don't put yourself at risk. Eat food that is good for you and exercise responsibly, and let it take what ever time your body needs.
Remember, if you haven't worked out much before you might gain weight to begin with because you are building muscle that weighs more than fat, but stick with it. The weight will come off.

Do alot of jogging, something that going to get you burning calories, eat carbs for energy, along with protein to help build muscle, along with the usual good stuff, but you have to keep the working out constant, work certain body groups every other day, i.e. lower body, like jogging i suppose, and the other day lift the weights, for the upper body.

And when your eating, just remember eating less is not particularly healthy, because of the exercise you are burning energy, so you may actually have to eat more, in some cases, or just eat a regular meal when you do, but eat the health stuff.

That should help some, but it depends on the ratio of the fat already on you, as in if your looking lean or a bit chubby, it all depends on you body type.

Anywho, hope that made some sense, and good luck with it.

edit: just wanted to add, i saw that you put that you are somewhat already muscular, muscle tissue is more dense than fat tissue, in turn the muscle is heavier than the fat, which most people dont take into account. so take what your planning to do and work ALOT harder for it.

It is possible, but mostly in drastic ways. If you really want a drastic way WHICH I DO NOT CONDONE AS A REGULAR DIET is the cabbage soup diet. look it up on google. i did it before vacation in june and lost 8 lbs in one week. the only thing is you can ONLY do it for one week. then you have to resume healthy eating habits.
please do not take what i say and use it negatively!!! i just know that i tried it and it worked, and i just tried to eat well afterwards.... good luck... i think it' s best if you just work out and eat healthy and you will lose weight, but even if you lost 2 pounds, you would look and feel better.

If you want to reduce your weight, you need to do a lot of exercise to accelerate your metabolism. It's better if you do cardiovascular exercise, because this kind of exercise helps you burn fat...

You should begin with a good eating plan, combining fats and sweets with fruits and vegetables. It will be better if you drink at least eight glasses of water daily to control your calories and your cholesterol.

If you want you can use some pills to control your weight and to accelerate the process of burning fat.

I know some pills which you can use to reduce your weight. Those pills are Xenical. Its results are excellent and fast.

When I wrestled I would Drop 15 pounds in a day to make the limit for my weight class. Sweating by wearing 5 sets of jogging suits and spitting in a cup. It is easily possible but it is not safe.
