It came from Zeus: a roman whiteman diety with beard. BTW, I am not saying anything againt Jesus, but the picture of Jesus portrayed by west is from zeus.

The only blonde haired blue eyed Jesus I saw in a movie was Peter O'Toole. And that was a freaking long time ago. All the other one's that I remember had brown hair. Jesus' hair could have been red though, because David his ancestor had red hair. But people who don't believe the Bible don't usually use the Bible to figure things out about the Bible.
How about you?

That is the European version of Jesus. When Martin Luther and John Calvin made Christianity popular in Europe, Europeans brought their doctrines over here when they invaded America. And they tried to describe Jesus's appearance in a way that reflected what they thought to be beauty. Blond hair, blue eyes.

A Mediterranean-looking Jesus did not sell well in Europe, therefore, pictures of Jesus were changed to reflect the facial type (and hair type) of those around the painters. The paintings started to sell.
Interestingly, however, the Bible forbids such artwork: Exodus 20:4 (NASB): "You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth." It is forbidden as many "devout, religious" people would focus on the paintings and worship the image (and their mental image of who God is/was versus the characterization of God in the Bible of who He really is).

No cameras back then. We don't know for sure. Probably like most people living in that region of the world today. Much of what we see today is just a persons rendering. May, or may not, be the real deal. I think that the guy that portrayed Christ in "The Passion of the Christ" may have come pretty close. But still, we really don't know. I don't think it matters all that much. It's what He did, not what He looked like, that counts.

Anglicized propaganda. Jesus (or Yeshua,as he would have been called by his peers) would have most likely had dark curly hair. The image was distorted, but his message is still a good one: Be kind to one another, live clean and help those less well off. It's a belief system that has its merits.

Europe. They adapted the image of Jesus to look like something more similar to them, something recognizable.
