Dear religious people:

Why do you come to a website to ask questions? Why are all of the answers not in your Holy Book(s) and what makes you think other mere mortals will have the answers.

And when did asking God stop working?

Maybe the others we ask have more or better incite on a given subject than the ask er. Is it wrong to ask questions? Isn't that a way that a person learns things. Asking God hasn't stopped working. It is from Gods word that the person is offering an answer. God doesn't owe us an answer for everything that goes on. Gods ways and intellect are so much greater than ours that we might be baffled if we heard the answer. It's not like having a question and the next day receiving a letter in the mail from God telling us the answer. Maybe God wants us to dig into His word and find the answer. And maybe some of it is called faith and trust.

There are no answers in my holy book. I don't have one. I very much prefer your idea about asking God; it works quite well for me. I mostly come here to answer questions, most of my own questions either have nothing to do with the R&S section or are intended to make people think. I'm close to giving up on the latter due to the high level on non-thinking that goes on around here, but sometimes I make a point. I think I might have even change someone's mind once. That was worth more than the 10 points I got for best answer.

With Love,

I often read that the questions and also its answers are not in line with my holy book of Islam. The askers sometimes have discredited Islam and its followers by making a wrong interpretation of certain quoted verses taken from the Qur'an.
I come to the wbsite not for asking a question but I am eager to know the question about Islam and I will ttry to answer it as clear as possible as it is meant in the QUr'an..Our prophet Muhammad pbuh instructed us to explain the contents of Qur'an although I can only to explain one verse of it.I do not want to ask God to stop wrking, because it will be worse to all humans on this earth.God regulates the movement of all parts of thes universe hamoniously and consistently.

think I have been to snatch you. lock you up in an 8 x 10 room and carry you there for the subsequent ten years. What that be allowed? No. i've got not got that authority. yet think you had committed a criminal offense. might the government have the splendid to fasten you away? confident. no longer purely the splendid however the accountability. each and every of the previous testomony regulations have been powers given to the court. They have been enable to punish a guy or woman on an identical time as much as the area of loss of life for the committing of particular crimes. Governments nonetheless have that ability on the instant and that's ethical suitable for them to do it. persons have not got that suitable. The outcomes of loss of life weren't the only decision the judges had, and have been purely utilized in situations the place the individuals have been convicted of repeated or intense violations. and that they provide thoughts. Exodus 31:15 supplies them to option to exile a sabbath breaker somewhat than execute them, as an occasion. And Leviticus 24:17 says no longer something approximately executing somebody for asserting the incorrect words. It says capital punishment is an decision in situations of homicide. not often the comparable issues. a central authority does have the splendid to impose its very own regulations. that would desire to comprise regulations approximately hard artwork practices. we've issues interior the US like minimum wages and not have the ability to artwork human beings previous a undeniable variety of hours without paying them extra. what's incorrect with a regulation that punishes employers who artwork their human beings seven days a week? Or regulations the shrink particular varieties of sexual habit. could be repeal all regulations against pedophiles, as an occasion? No. a central authority does have the splendid to outlaw volatile activities. That God might help the assumption of a society governed via regulation, that seeks to guard its human beings and save some experience of morality and decency purely is clever. there is no longer something "violent" approximately wanting to maintain regulation and order, or punishing people who're criminals.

Not all of us religious folk ask questions.

Some of them have seemingly contradictory or hard to understand holy books, so they need help reading. Not every question is answered in them.

My Dieties never stopped working for me, so I'm not quite sure what you're refering to.

Zing!

I like to bring this one up regarding the millions of christian denominations. I mean, if these people have a personal relationship with god, shouldn't he have told them by now which denomination is correct?

God: "Billy, the Protestants have got it wrong - The Catholics are the correct denomination"

Billy: "Oh, gotcha! I'll join them immediately"

With Yahweh, the personal god, there should be no such thing as religious schisms..

Unless, of course, theists are simply conversing with their own subconscious fears, desires and prejudices...

You are confusing religious with mindlessly Christian.

My religion does not have a Holy Book for me to rely on to give me shortcuts to answers and wisdom. I'm expected to be able to use my brain.

I couldn't find the square root of 166478563 in the bible. I looked for hours.

I asked God, but He refused to answer. Apparently He is an artist, not a mathematician. Math gives Him headaches.
