You know, Christmas is already a sad Holiday for lots of people. Do you really want to do this now. You might just think that it will only be sad for the other person, but it would most likely be sad for you also. Maybe even your family if this person has been close with your family. I don't think it would hurt you to wait until after Christmas. Let this be a Merry Christmas for all.
Then after Christmas, back to the deed.

You gotta do what you gotta do. Today you are waiting until after Christmas, after Christmas is the new year and after the new year is Valentine's. There's always an excuse not to break up.
Do it as soon as you get a chance. The longer you stall the worse it will get.

I had a girlfriend once that waited until after christmans to break up with me. Well, she waited until January 2nd to be exact. I later found out that she had told a friend that she had been planning it before christmas. In hind sight, I wished I had known before christmas, others may feel differently, but I could have got things together faster.

Right before Christmas, it would be rude. But if you do it now, you can save you and your partner a little heartache. Especially if you both have to go to each others' family get togethers. After Christmas will probably hurt him/her a lot more.

Traditional yes it would be rude for you to break up before christmas. However if your not happy in a relationship then your emotions should count more than what day it is, it would not be fair to you or your partner to continue a relationship each day knowing that your unhappy with eachother, and the only thing thats stopping you is Christmas.

it depends if you already have your eye on a certain guy. From my opinion I think it's best to do it before christmas because you'll have new years to worry about right after, then what? Valentines day? It's best to do it before christmas. Especially not on Christmas day, that's just going to break the guy into pieces. Keep it simple. ;)
Good luck.

I know a guy whose girlfriend broke up on Christmas day... just before he was going to pop the question. It is unfair to get a gift from someone who thinks there is more to the relationship than you do.
I would make sure the break up is necessary first {are there communication issues that need to be worked out, is it a issue of selfishness on your part etc}. If you seriously need to terminate the relationship do not wait do it Monday!!!

I wanna break up with my bf tomorrow and i don't care if it's before christmas or after christmas....I'm so tired of this relationship coz he breaks my heart all the time. So why don't i finish it as soon as possible...You should break up any moment and any time that you don't feel he's not the right guy for you. Don't waste even a second of your time. even a minute. He's not worth it.

There is never a good time to break up!
Before or After, in both situation you will have to hurt your partner, but sometime waiting for the right moment make it worst!!!
You will be more distant causing your partner to feel something wrong, he will probably start being after you like a magnet, driving you more crazy! It is a very vicious circle.
