I have never been ultra religious but I am starting to believe just by observation that man(or woman) are inherently evil and will naturally do bad things. This is why we have reprocussions for our evil actions and why G-d allows us to redeem ourselves through prayer.

Wow..I sound like a preacher. But seriously, I have personally found this to be true.

Thanks for the details. One way to answer would be the principle of 'sin'. But your Q is about day to day life and the struggles we all have.

For me it boils down to MIND over MATTER.
It is about SELF CONTROL
It is about PRACTICE
Thoughts and desires are a constant part of daily life.

It would be nice if there were nothing to distract us. But, for me it's even nicer when I practice turning my focus and then I'm not distracted by the distractions.

Get physically active, hugely so. Ride a bike, swim, jog, and realize you are not alone, and you can succeed.

Sin: to misunderstand (Hebrew); to miss the mark (Greek, hunting term)

We misunderstand, we miss the mark in ability sometimes. We all do. And, tho, some may use this as an EXCUSE to go back out and repeat the same activity, it doesn't have to be that hard. You are given the spirit of power and of love and of a sound mind. That is a powerful trinity. The triangle is the strongest support structure in engineering. So engineer your thinking rightly and you will be successful in OVERCOMING baser desires every time. Soon it will feel good and right and you will be proud of your choices and be an encouragement to others around you.

in relation to sex there are a lot of reasons we continually sin it feels good it makes us feel good about ourselves emotionally and physically it makes us part of the group it makes us have babies it makes us get closer to the one we love or on the flip side you have sex get dumped and persue that pattern looking for love we have premarital sex to fit in with peers and to keep from being dumped thoughts and desires come from the way people look if you look at someone and you think they r hot you look again then lust after them this is a sin but im still not sure why people cant be happy with what they got and continue to do this

Honestly? It is a lack of regeneration by the Spirit of God. Not all people who claim to be Christians are born again. Salvation is a work of God, not of man. He who began a good work in you will complete it to the end. If you are not seeing fruit, then the Bible exhorts you to examine yourself to see if you are in the faith. Read the book of I John. There are a good number of tests in there to help someone examine their own life.

Recommended sermon by Paul Washer on the topic of examining oneself:

We all sin because we are sucked into it by society. Our sin just brings us further from God. no one is perfect and no one can be without sin for there is original sin. God died for our sin and so that we can be forgiven. In our day in age its almost impossible to seperate yourself from sin for satan has control of us. the only way to escape is to look to God and to follow scripture

God gave us these sexual drives to make sure the human race continues. God understands our failures. All this mitigates our guilt, at least partially. He is a loving God so He forgives us. He wants us to continue to struggle to do the right thing. We need the help of prayer to do this.

Its very hard to see something as a sin when it doesn't hurt you or anyone you've ever met, and in fact helps you and others.
