Nearly perfect Minolta 7s II... Full manual control, awesome Leica build, leather, and a huge, smooth F/1.7 lens.

Is there a digital camera on the planet that can match this kind of lens speed for $75?

"Leica build" refers to the lens formula. Not the body.

Sorry.

Visit rokkorfiles.com and read the review of this camera. I own the black body model and its worth every cent.

The original collaboration with Leica produced the Leitz-Minolta CL which later became the Minolta CLE. Its possible that the 7SII was a continuation, although some sources suggest the 7SII was built by Cosina for Minolta. I find this unlikely, though.

Leicaphiles gnash their teeth and turn all red-faced whenever they are reminded that the Leica R-3 was really a Minolta XE-7 and the R-4 & R-5 were variations of the Minolta XD-11. If you tell them that Leica also sold the Minolta 16mm f2.8 full-frame fisheye and the Minolta 35-70mm f3.5 and 70-210mm f4 constant aperture zoom lenses as their own, you risk causing permanent damage to the psyche of the Leicaphile. Be gentle.

I heard the old Minoltas were made in the same factories as the Leica lenses. So, that must mean that have the same lenses.

Yes, it's a nice looking camera. Maybe shoot it once in a while. I prefer the build of a Nikon, though.

I could buy that and put it in the closet with my other four Minolta 35mm's. (and my two 120's and one 46mm)!

It is nice. But it will end up just sitting some place. Digital is way more convenient.

No... but your ongoing costs will likely soon outstrip your savings - it depends how much you'll use it!!

Yup, it's cool.

Dunno about the "Leica build" though.
