Yes, it could. In college two of my roommates were ASL majors and wanted to go into interpreting, and they were very careful about not even wearing jewelry on their hands and wrists, and keeping their nails unpainted because their teachers stressed the importance of keeping that area free of distractions. I'd recommend getting the tattoo somewhere else, because it could create problems with potential employers in the future.

I work with special needs children and adults, including people who are deaf. The interpreter's that we work with do not wear any watches or bracelets when they are signing as it tends to be too distracting for the audience.
You may need to rethink the placement of these types of tattoos if you are planning on being in sign for a career.
Good luck and Merry Christmas.

It is a big decision to make the tattoo able to be seen by the public. You may cause the issue of getting a job and not.
And are you ready to go public with your art.
Other wise I suggest keeping your tattoos STILL as an under the sleeves, off the thighs etc. Just my thought, and something I HAD to decide.

i think it would be a distraction, however, if you got the right type of bracelet to wear every day, no one would really notice.
Personally, if I were looking @ someone's hands (to see what they were signing, for example) and I saw writing or a picture on their wrist, I would spend my time trying to figure out what it said rather than what the person themselves was saying.
After I read it or figured out what it was, it wouldn't be a problem.

You can get a tat anywhere you want but for that type of job it may not be a good idea. My "honey" has" 3 tats but always covers them at work to avoid snide remarks etc. It's unfortunate but some people out there pre judge people with tats.

maybe you could consider getting tattoos a couple inches up your wrists (above the main veins) and wear long sleeve shirts. As long as you can conceal them, i see no harm in having them.

It depends on the employer. Some frown upon tattoo's. Some do not.

it is prettier and classier for you to wear a feminine bracelet
on your wrist
rather than a tattoo which is permanent damage on the skin of your wrist
