I've heard care packages to Marines in Iraq can't be heavier than 10 pounds....I think i have less than 10, but i'm just double checking. Thanks.

using a flat rate box it can be as heavy as you can carry..but keep in mind there IS a total weight allowance, and if given a choice between one box that weighs 35 lbs and one that weighs 20, they will go for the 20 pounder if they are close to the authorized weight limit the plane can carry.

I have sent packages to friends that are well over 10 lbs and they were Marines in Iraq. There wasn't a problem at all with them receiving them. You are using a Flat rate box correct, where there really isn't a weight limit.

Contact your local recruiting station. They can and will tell you about all the do's and dont's with care packages.

Remember to Iraq: no pork meat snacks(canned sausages or jerky made with pork...), no girly, nude or porn mags, and regardless of where your at, no drugs, alcohol or weapons.

Like I said just call your local recruiter and they will be more than happy to give you the official details about sending your care package overseas.

Besides getting a letter from home, a care package from home is the best.

Having been to Iraq I can honestly tell you send something not too heavy and no bigger than a shoebox. Heavier and bigger will make it but it may become damaged in shipment. I hope whoever you are sending to is doing well. Duty overseas during these times is admirable work. :>)
