About a year ago and a half ago i noticed a decent size lump under my right armpit. it has never hurt so i didnt pay much attention. lately it has grown to about half the size of a golf ball and is clearly visible if i put my arm to my side. it just kind of sticks out. i dont have insurance so i need to know if this is something i should get checked out. i also dont have a family doctor so who would i go see? i'm only 19 very healthy otherwise. i do have an undiagnosed condition where i go blind in one eye about once every 6 months. this started happening about the same time i noticed the lump. any connection?

Any lump that is growing needs to be seen immediately by a doctor. Make an appointment as soon as possible. Cancer in otherwise healthy young people is extremely deceptive. Usually there are few symptoms . . other than an obvious lump or bump that can't be explained. Cancer is also rarely painful . . it's just there. No one here can tell you what this is on your body . . it needs to be clinically examined . . and soon. If it is cancer it will not wait while you try to get insurance . . cancer can start growing extremely fast and spred very quickly. You are out of time. Call in the morning.

The other medical problem you mention seems odd too . . but doesn't seem connected to the lump. But no one here really knows that. Only a doctor can make a diagnosis.

Good luck to you.

It sounds like a lymph node, they swell sometimes if you have any infection in your body. I could be a cyst also, the chances of it being cancer are pretty rare. I would be best to get it checked out. Cancer is the fastest growing cells next to embro's so if it was cancer it would have gotten larger rather quickly. I had a lump in my breast a couple of years back and had to get it removed. It was just a cyst but grew from about the size of a pea to a dime size in two months. Usually the can try to stick a needle in it to see if it is fluid filled, which is what a cyst usually is. If not they may be able to do a needle biopsy if they feel necessary. Maybe you can try to look up low cost clinics, sometimes they will charge you according to your income and you can always make payments. Good luck.

The lump is located right where one of the major lymph nodes of the body is. I would get it checked out by a doctor especially if it is growing in size. It could be an indication of something serious, but only a doctor will be able to tell you that.

I had a similar lump on my back just below my shoulder blade.

I had it for years, and EVERY Doctor that ever looked at it, just shrugged it off as a piece of ugly fat growing under the skin.

It didn't hurt, and I was only aware of it, when I worked out, then those muscles around it felt tighter than the ones on the other side, with out this lump.

However: It was fugly!

I went down to Mexico, and had it cut out for about 250 U.S. Dollars.

You could also have an allergic reaction to the chemicals in the deodrant that you're using.
Shaving the armpits can also cause some of the hair to turn inside [ingrown] and this can cause a build up of inflammation.
Go to the nearest health center and have it checked out....they usually are free or if you have some sort of income...you will be charged on a sliding scale fee.
Best to you.

It may be a fat lump, usually those don't hurt. But you do need to find out regardless. Good luck dear.

i get those lumps under my arms alot but mine are very painful and i'm 20. i had one when i was younger and the doc said it was hormones due to starting my period and all that. and even now, it seems to come back, not all the time, before i start my period. its a swollen lymph nodes is what the doc said. they come and go. i would go get it check out just in case though just to make sure. and as for the blindness, i'm not sure if that has any connection. my doc told me that ibuprofen can cause temporary deafness and blindness because i would go deaf for a few seconds in my ear. good luck

I had the same. It's breast abcess mass. You should get it checked out and removed. It will only get bigger with weight gain and pregnancy. i know you mentioned about not having insurance. See if there's a way to get insurance from the state so you can have this taken care of.

Okay well if you have been using anti perspirant then you probably have developed a cyst. Or it could be a fatty cyst. Very very unlikely to be anything serious. Go to the Dr. but almost certainly not cancer. It is likely a sebaceous cyst caused from using antiperspirant.
