he is constantly taken advantage of by his family his job his friends, pretty much everyone and i dont know if i can be with someone like that for the rest of my life, it is a serious issue and i'm so tired of him paying peoples rent and buying every single house hold item just cause they know he will. is there anyone out there who has recovered from this? could you spend the rest of your life with someone who is like this?

Codependency is a very real thing. He is not likely to change by himself. Some people like to be married to codependents, they will do anything to make you happy. Unfortunately, as you have seen, they are fairly high maintenance, they try to make other people happy, too.
There is a 12-step group for codependents.
Some codependents benefit from therapy, but then again, so do most of us.

DOnt be alarmed, you have a boyfriend who is kind...but he may be a push over...he wants to make everybody happy in any possible way...maybe he just cant say no...you justhave to tell him how you feel...talk to hi...communicate with him about this issue...and see what come about
