That's just a stereotype because we aren't afraid and don't take too much seriously except our intellectual freedom. We are also quick to catch on to a joke.
It is probably more accurate that atheists are better lovers, are better parents, are more tolerant, are better educated and earn more money than religious believers. That is probably not a stereotype but amenable to scientific research.
