HELP!
The gym that I am a member to is closing down for 3 weeks for renovations, those 3 weeks start today! I don't know how I'm going to work out at home, I have never done it before because I've been a member of this gym for so long!

The only thing I have at home is a treadmill. I don't even have free weights or anything.

What exercises can I do over the holidays to keep me in shape?

I might add... I live in Canada and we just got 40cm of snow in my area. Anything outside is a bust.

To start with, having a treadmill is great! You can get a great cardio workout on a treadmill.

For weights though, use something around the house. Milk jugs work just fine. Fill them with water, hold by the handles, and lift them as you are lifting weights. You'd be surprised at how much those weigh after a few minutes of lifting!! Or you can simply go to a sports store and purchase cheap dumbbells for home use.

You can also rent videos and watch them. With so many workout videos to choose from, you have an endless selection.

Check out www.self.com for more workout tips. The magazine is fantastic!! They always have great workouts and lots of pictures to go along with them.

Or, like someone else suggested, seek out another gym and ask for a free trial pass. Most gyms these days (at least in the US) will give you a free week pass to try them out. You might be able to get a longer one if you ask.

Run, Do some push ups, Get some workout DVD and work out with them....you don't need weights if you move your arms up and down for like a few min with nothing in your hands eventualy your arms will start to burn it just takes longer.

Get a 1 month membership at another gym. I know we probably go to way different gyms but mine has month to month membership programs, and you can quit the membership whenever you want.
