i just bought a new laptop and had the trial version of excel. apparantly my trial ran out. i downloaded open office.org but it will not let me open my excel files.I tried to copy all my notes off excel but it wont even let me copy, or type-just view!! It would take me atleast a month to retype these notes. Anyone have any ideas??

You can download another trial version of ms office to retrieve your notes, or you could go to www.serial.ws to find a key for the version of ms office you have downloaded. I've gotten keys for about every piece of software imaginable from that site, for free of course. You could also click on the files you need and click save as and save to a file type you can open in other spreadsheet software.

well as you have received other answers to download office then activate it and then view your notes. But i have got a simple and easy way. Log on to www.kamyabonline.com there in the pages see for office 2008. download that. and for installing that you will need the password which is www.kamyabonline.com and then you can view it this office is very less in size.

Download the Excel Viewer from microsoft

It will allow you to view excel files.
