I have 3 healthy kittens and thei're mother has just been ran over (words can't express what I feel). I live in a backwater place where there aren't any vets qualified with cats. Another big problem is that it would take at least a month for a can of kitten formula to get where I live (don't move to the caribbean).

I know they are intolerant so sucrose and lactose, are other sugars okay? I read somewhere that that pure chicken baby food is okay (maybe not for 18 days though). I'm planning on scraping off bits from vitamin suplaments, easy on the iron though.

Thank you.

P.S. my father is an asshat that insists red bull is a good way to give them taurine...

This is a recipe for homemade formula. The babies at about 3 weeks will be able to start drinking from a plate, also you can mix in a bit of soft kitten food or Gerber baby food. At 4-5 weeks you can start adding more solids and trying them on solid food for babies.

No need to add vitamin supplements, they will be fine without it.

Call your local vet. They should give you some ideas on what to feed the kittens. Also, pet supply stores have supplements that you can give to them. If you do go the baby food route, be sure to read the labels carefully. Avoid baby foods with onions in the ingredients - they're toxic to cats.

Also - the caffeine in Red Bull would kill them.

Good luck.

Poor babies!

And yes, your dad is erring greatly.

Do you have access to goat's milk, by any chance? That's frequently used as a substitute when it happens that Momma can't feed the babies for whatever reason.

Otherwise, you might take a look in the grocery store for some kitten-formula wet food that you can mush up further.

Good luck!

Kitten or puppy milk replacer. You can get it on most pet stores or your vet can recommend some.

Goats milk, or powdered milk can be mixed with an egg (for protein) and warmed. You are probably going to have to use an eye dropper or similar, but as soon as they are walking wipe a bit of milk on their paws so they learn to lick it off. As they get that down, place them in front of a low saucer or pan of milk to try that.

Good luck.

I don't know but I've always given our baby kittens goats milk and they've done just fine.

Grocery stores sell it by the powdered milk.

You can go to walmart or any pet store and get powdered milk for newborn animals and they also have the feeder bottles too.
