Christians believe that people are born with free-will. Christians also believe that everyone has been given the same opportunity to accept Jesus and it's totally their own free-will to accept or deny Jesus. But what Christians has forgotten is that they also believe that God is the creator of every human being and thus the creator of every human brain. Now what is it that a human being use to make a "choice"? Is it not the brain? The kind of choices an individual makes is influenced and totally dependant on two factors: The brain + environmental influences. People can't choose the kind of brain they are born with, and to a less extent the environment they are born in.

For example, when you see an ant on the floor, whether you decide to spare it or step on it depends on your brain you're born with and how it's been shaped. All of which was initially chosen for you!

Since God created human brains, we can conclude that God indirectly predestined everyone's choices!

From the answers I've received, it's pretty obvious that Christians can't grasp a tad bit of what I'm saying here.

Well shucks.. looks like you've got us there.

With all that intellectual prowess... we might as well start worshipping you. You've outdone God.

LOL.

We are created with free will. This has nothing to do with the components of our brains.

Incidentally, I used to step on bugs. I no longer do because of someone I met. I let them outside... alive.

Your conclusion is very simply ignorant. If I create a computer chip, it doesnt mean I program it with what to do.

Just because God knows what choices we are going to make, doesn't mean he "programs" us to make them.

Suggestion: Intellectual arguments are not your niche. You may want to try outright comedy or sarcasm.

God Bless You.

wow finally a very intellectual question! In my opinion (I'm a christian) I believe that God is very confusing and people can not understand why he does the things he does. God has always known what all people were going to do before they did it. That's why Christ died on the cross and why it was so awful he was exposed to every single persons sins. But also along with his full knowledge of our actions he doesn't dictate our thoughts but at the same time God put us in certain situations like brain (intelligence, home life, family etc.) People make their own decisions. People are born with different backgrounds, lives, and brains, and their own ability to make choices. If God didn't allow choices to be made then we would all be robots. What kind of love would it be for God if we were forced to love Him. He wants us to decide things for ourselves. Sorry if I've rambled I just liked the question. I hope that I've helped!

Yours seems to be a logical and rational analysis.
Now for the question of the existence of the soul. Is it a physiological entity that can be measured part of the genome? Does it only form with the joining of sperm and egg? If a fertilized egg is used in stem cell research does the soul go into all of the new medicines that are discovered as a result or does the soul go directly to hell because of not having accepted Jesus as personal savior?
Then the next question is: What is the difference between a duck? (Everyone knows the answer to this: One of it's legs are both the same and the higher it flies the much.)
BUt let's move on to the real issue: Why is a mouse when it's spinning?

The behaviorist school of psychology represented by the late B.F.Skinner believes that free will is an illusion, that behavior is a result of genetic endowment and environmental history, that goes for human beings and your ant period.Ken Blanchard one half of the one minute manager says that we are not just our behavior we are the persons managing our behavior.Jean Niedetch, the founder of Weight Watchers reminds us that your choices not chance determines your destiny! The Deists believe God created everything(including your brain) and then retired(he was tired after all that).John Calvin believed when you are born you are predestined already to go to heaven or hell and there is not one doggone thing you can do about it.Take your pick, which one of these ideas "work" for you or maybe none of them?

the priority we've right here and in usa is that the communicate is oftentimes between Christians and Atheists. the two aspects are sort of monopolized. There are not enormous modifications interior of theism nor non-theism. They in no way have in fights. The Christians do not could question different religious innovations virtually adequate. comparable is going with the Atheists while it is composed of what's actuality and not. One could say that there are oppositions between Muslims, Catholics, Protestants, etc. yet all of them come from an analogous roots - Abraham. it incredibly is form of hopeless at this component as a results of fact the U.S. is 80% Christian and 15% Atheist. the different 5% extremely don't have that lots of a say.

I have always wondered this area. If God has a plan, and we have to live with the plan and if God makes the plan, how can we not be in His control?

If God is all knowing? How is it that he doesn't know what we are going to do, and just skip the middle part about free choice. he should know the choice without the having to "prove" ourselves. Also if he know s that plan for our life, why are their people we need to "avoid" Didn't he make them the way they are?

The choices we make are dependent upon what is placed before us. Those who are taught of Christ have the opportunity to accept or reject Christ. Because Christ is the Son of God, Our Father in Heaven sent the Holy Ghost to testify of all truth - and so when we learn of Christ, there will be a witness given that it is true. It is up to us to accept it or not. Regardless of background, we are given the choice - free will. It is up to us to find the truth, accept it, and live according to it.

I greatly admire your logic, which is impeccable, and I also cheer you on in your attempts to get Christians to see what you are saying.

The obvious problem with tmany of them is that they either really are too obtuse or just plain uneducated and/or inherently stupid to truly grasp what you are saying.

The percentage of them that do have the brain cells to understand what you are talking about are immediately going to have to resort to any number of protection double talk devices to try to talk around what you have said, in order to protect their ongoing fantasies about the "truth" of their belief in this preposterous thing known as Christianity.

They have to dance around it because to acknowledge the clear truth of your message would be tantamount to risking their immortal souls by questioning the sanctity and "validity" of what they say they believe, and protecting the myth is NUMBAH ONE!

Nice try, I like it. I am sure it made some of them uncomfortable.

Yes, I have actually thought of that before. In one of my philosophy classes we had a huge discussion about it. There's really no way for us to know for certain. I used to think that the big things (career, who we fall in love with, etc.) were predetermined and the small things weren't, but I honestly don't know what I think now. My thoughts are always evolving.
