There really isn't any specific age where your body begins to have problems. My pastor had the worst case of osteoarthritis in his hips that his doctor had ever seen when he was in his twenties. He had three hip replacements.
There are so many reasons for hip pain. If it gets really bad and continues to progress, get some x-rays done.

Just because you're a teenager doesn't mean you can't have health problems. I began with symptoms similar to yours when I was 15. No one thought it could be anything significant because as they said, "You're a big, healthy farm girl." Yeah, well.......I am 66 now and have had a lifetime of joint and bone pains. I have rheumatoid arthritis and degenerative disc problems. I've had a knee and hip replacement and surgery on my lumbar and cervical spine. I can no longer walk without a walker and I use a power chair most of the time. I will be having more surgeries on my spine in January. I have spondylosis and scoliosis as well as stenosis of the spine. I tell you this because you need to have a complete health check-up to eliminate anything like this being your problem. I don't much believe in growing pains. My daughter is 31 and has the beginnings of the same problems. Both of my sons also have this, as did my grandmother and great-grandmothers. I've raised a family, had two professional careers and a full life BUT I have also had to deal with chronic pain for years and years. I've always wondered if I'd been diagnosed much sooner and had good health care for these problems if I would be more mobile and in less pain now. Good luck and God bless.

It is possible that it could be SCFE, not sure how old you are but that typically comes on between 12-14 years of age. The hip does refer pain to the knee so it definitely sounds like a hip problem. I would make an appointment with your doctor to get some x-rays ordered.

Did you see a Dr. yet? Look up hip dysplasia and it will explain displaced hips. There are a lot of reasons for joints to hurt and guessing on your own only adds to your anxiety, so if you haven't see the Dr. then please do so.
If you are very flexible, double-jointed etc.. then you may want to check out ehlers danlos syndrome (hypermobility type), a very under-diagnosed problem.

hmm im not really to sure about that but if you are a dancer or gymnast like myself sometimes like all bones it happens to ware the bone down from excesive rubbing of the bones together so the pain may be from that. thats prty much what mine is from but it usually goes away fast for me.

Honey, please stop worrying over it. It is true it could be something you pulled like a muscle and you are just feeling the pain in the bone area or you could have growing type of pains or it could be juvenile arthritis.

You might have hip problems. I had the same problem after I would play sports. I had x-rays & everything. I finally found out it was just because I was out of shape.

I don't mean to scare you but it sounds like it could be either cervical cancer or growing pains
