Carrots will help you maintain good vision, but they will not give you superhuman vision or improve your vision overall such as going from 20/40 or 20/30 vision to 20/20 or even 20/15 in most cases. The thing in carrots that nourishes the eves is beta-carotene which the body metabolises into Vitamin A (also referred to as retinol). Vitamin A will help cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration and night blindness; but for most of us out there the cause of our bad vision is cornea malformation which is treated by glasses, contact lenses, and surgery.

No. Carrots will not help your eyes "get better". However a diet that includes carrots will help maintain your vision, specially at night when we rely more on the non color sensitive cone structure in the eye, and can help prevent the formation of cataracts.

This is a myth originally made up by the British Army during WWII. Their new Radar system tracked enemy bombers before they reached the English Channel and in order to keep their new technology a secret, they started the rumor that a diet of carrots helped them to see Nazi bombers at night.

Yes, carrots contain vitamin A and beta-carotene which directly feed the rods and cones of the retina. Without them, your vision, esp. at night, won't be as sharp, and possibly very dim.

No. It's a very popular myth, but like so many, there's no truth behind it. You can Google the story behind it.
