The Bible shows that God does NOT consider human life to be precious. He kills OVER 2 million people, including babies, and that isn't counting fetuses or the number of men, women, children, and fetuses killed during the Flood or the Slaughter of the Firstborns, when we are not told how many people he killed.
The Bible clearly shows that God approves of abortion, and in many cases commands it:
The Bible approves of killing pregnant women: Genesis 38:24, Numbers 31:17
The Bible approves of abortion: 2 Kings 15:16
God approves of abortion: Hosea 13:15-16
People are not counted as persons until they are a month old: Numbers 3:15
The Bible contains directions on how to abort any pregnancy caused by adultery: Numbers 5:12-31
The Bible says that being aborted is better than living a bad life: Ecclesiastes 6:3-5, Matthew 26:24
The Bible says that a person becomes a living soul when he BREATHES the BREATH of life into his nostril (fetuses don't breathe): Genesis 2:7
1 minute ago - Report Abuse
Jesus (as a Jew), probably believed that "life" began at birth, as explained in the Old Testament. There is no biblical support for an "anti-choice" position. Have you read your bible?
Here's what your Bible actually says about abortion:
Abortion is not murder. A fetus is not considered a human life:
If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life. -- Exodus 21:22-23
The Bible places no value on fetuses or infants less than one month old:
And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy estimation shall be three shekels of silver. -- Leviticus 27:6
Fetuses and infants less than one month old are not considered persons:
Number the children of Levi after the house of their fathers, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them. And Moses numbered them according to the word of the LORD. -- Numbers 3:15-16
God sometimes approves of killing fetuses:
And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? ... Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. -- Numbers 31:15-17
(Some of the non-virgin women must have been pregnant. They would have been killed along with their unborn fetuses.)
Give them, O LORD: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts. -- Hosea 9:14
Yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb. -- Hosea 9:16
Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up. -- Hosea 13:16
God sometimes kills newborn babies to punish their parents:
Because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die. -- 2 Samuel 12:14
God sometimes causes abortions by cursing unfaithful wives:
The priest shall say unto the woman, The LORD make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when the LORD doth make thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to swell. And this water that causeth the curse shall go into thy bowels, to make thy belly to swell, and thy thigh to rot: And the woman shall say, Amen, amen. ...
And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people. And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed. -- Numbers 5:21-21, 27-28
God's law sometimes requires the execution (by burning to death) of pregnant women:
Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt. -- Genesis 38:24

It's only 100% murder if you're a religious fundamentalist. If you're not, you can use reason to look at the issue in more depth. Depending on the country you live in, abortion generally isn't murder if it's performed in the first 3 months of the pregnancy. In the UK (my country) It's perfectly legal (ie not murder) to have an abortion if the pregnancy is less than 24 weeks old. The same is the case in pretty much all western countries I know about, and I guess south africa is the same. Any later than that and you won't be allowed to have one unless your own life is in danger. When trying to decide if it's murder or not, remember that a foetus is not a human being yet, it doesn't feel pain or emotion like a child or an adult. The question is, at what point does a foetus become developed enough to start feeling pain and emotion?

Within the context of Christianity, it is believed that God takes the life of those who die of natural causes. This is true whether you are a 112 year old woman or a developing fetus. A miscarriage is a death by natural causes, unless it was induced by the mother, then it is an abortion.
If your asking questions about religion, you may want to consider reading scripture, since that is what religions are based on.
As for how some pro-lifers can be in favor of capital punishment, the explanaton is simple: an unborn child and a convicted murderer are not the same, and society ought to treat them differently.

The reason why we're scared/enraged at murderers is because there's a big possibility that they may murder them as well, especially when they are serial killers. However, if one aborts one's child, it hurts no one except the child. Why do you care when there's no danger apporoaching you?
I don't see why murder is bad. Strong killing the weak, that is the law of nature. And if we try to deny nature, then that's another proof us humans are arrogant.
I admit that humans are sociable and thus have to live together. Then, it's important that everyone is satisfied and their lives aren't under threat. Abortion hurts no one else.
So what if many regret after abortion? It's their fault, you don't need to butt in and excuse yourself saying that you're just trying to prevent that woman from being miserable.
Not all who have abortion are irresponsible. Some are raped and when they have abortion, it can help their lives. The girl can be a scholarship winning and all and just because she's pregnant, she can live very miserably and die.
The baby who was saved can later be a nobel prize winner, etc? There is a possibility. However, when one wants to get rid of one's child, it's because they can't afford it. They can literally be in a situation they'll starve to death if the baby's born. It's very unlikely likely so. There's MUCH more possibility that the baby's going to end up as a drug dealer and cause problems than growing up normal. We don't need any more unwanted, unhappy lives.
I don't care if you choose to keep your baby but don't butt into other people's lives. That's just really unfair.

I am not Christian, but I don't promote abortion.
A miscarriage is no more murder than an adult dying of a heart attack or natural causes is murder. Miscarriages usually occur when there is a problem with the fetus, and neither the child, the mother, or "God" have any say so in the matter.
And I am against the death penalty as well.

Just because no human choice is involved doesn't mean that we should assign events to God.
Capital punishment and abortion are two completely different things. The former takes the life of a violent and dangerous criminal who is beyond rehabilitation. The latter (according to the abortion = murder position) takes the life of an innocent human being.

If abortion is murder, then I guess a miscarriage would be involuntary manslaughter, which shows just how ridiculous it is to regard a fetus as a human life. Until it becomes viable outside the womb, a fetus is a parasite surviving by leeching nutrients from and being sheltered by its mother host. That's not human, at least not yet.

Accidents happen to babies because over the years, the accumulation of sin on this planet has weakened us humans, to the point where one person might be born with a hole in his or her heart, and another might die in miscarriage. It is not God's fault.
And yet I have seen God intervene and at least in ONE case, an infant that was suppose to die within the hour is still alive over a year later (today) because people of our church started seriously praying for this baby.
There is a difference between killing an innocent baby who has done absolutely nothing wrong, and a murderer who is on death row for taking the lives of others.
Unfortunately, even the innocent are affected by the sins of the world. THAT is why God so desparately wants us to TURN from our sinful lifestyles and put our trust in Jesus.

To me, the intention is the key difference here.
A miscarriage is an accident. It's not intentional killing. In constrast, an abortion is a choice to end a pregnancy.
And no, not all pro-lifers are for capital punishment. I'm one of them who does not agree with capital punishment. Groups like Democrats for Life also hold this stance.

First off, God is never wrong in what he does. He could torture you slowly, cause tsunamis, cripple children, curse them with cancer and there will always be some stupid scripture or reason justifying why these things are happening.
As for abortion being murder, I too sit on the fence. Each of us has our own set of values and make the choices we feel are appropriate at that time in our lives. We are all our own judge and jury and that's fine with me.

Okay here is the lay down
Miscarriage: We had a miscarriage and that is because the baby was conceived sickly. It pretty much got ill in the womb and died from sickness. Just like we can die from illness after we are born.
I am not for capital punishment and it is wrong for people to say that you can murder while one is in the womb but then you can murder when one is out and has screwed up.
No one deserves death. Not unborn baby or criminal or anyone else.
