Belief in the concept of sin itself is superstition.

Only some. We do belive that there is a spiritural world, and that demons do exist. This is because we have the Right of Exersism. I'm half Wicca, and half Christian. My pastor had an experiense and I asked him what he did and what it was like. e.x. if the house was cold, and if they did modifications to the house at the time. Both are true. So now whenever someone comes to the Church with this kind of problem they ask me, a 14 year old girl that's in 8th grade. lol.
Also in the Bible we see that Jesus casts out an evil spirit. I don't have a Bible with me right now, but if it's the one were he's talking about the wicked, then yes about those. Normal supersitions are normaly casted away like the salt, and under a lader. I know alot about this topic, so if anyone would like more infomation please e-mail me at noodle.freak@sbcglobal.net

Nope it actually isn't sinful. Being a Christian myself and knowing the 10 commandments, there isn't a violation. It would be "putting another God before him" since superstition doesn't need to include an idol or God to even worship.

God condemns seeking help through spiritistic practices. (Deuteronomy 18:10-12; 2Â Kings 21:6) That is flirting with the enemy, forming an alliance with God’s betrayers! Consulting a horoscope, inquiring of a tribal medicine man, or dabbling in any superstitious practice would mean allowing the wicked spirits to control the decisions you make in your life. It is tantamount to joining in their rebellion against God.

I think superstition is a silly waste of time but not necessarily sinful. I think people need to be concerned with the types of sin that actively effect, and hurt other creatures and humans. Above all, Jesus was a compassionate and loving man who advised us to forgive one another. Let's focus more on that truth and less on hocus pocus.
I do agree that superstition can be detrimental and it is a false idol when we should leave our faith where our faith is due.

Yes, because "superstition" is a form of witchcraft, idolatry, and such sinful practices. Believe in Jesus Christ, and follow the Holy Spirit.

If it is then you better quit saying "bless you" after someone sneezes......it would be considered a sin!!!! There are many superstitions and if they are a sin, you better find out which ones you are practicing!

Well... I wouldn't call it sinful, but it's not unnecessarily a good thing either as it shows a lack in faith... (It's all made-up anyway, I have a friend who was born on Friday the 13, and there is absolutely nothing different about him at all...)

superstition is for the most part cultural, but it is evident with many people across many relgious spectrums. But it should not be something christians swear by. A true christian would know better.

I think you are right. Any trust other than trust in YHVH is sinful. See Ex 23:13. That would include "God" and "Jesus". The Savior's name is YAHOSHUA. Hail Zeus is the bad guy.
