what i mean is that if the gross anual income what my parents receive from working? or is it what they receive from the social security office, because he is disabled

Gross Annual Income is not a term you will find on IRS tax forms. If this is something you are being asked on an application for some type of public benefits, you should ask them what they mean by it.
On 2007 1040 line 22, the amount is called "Total Income". This includes income from jobs, and possibly some of Social Security benefits received, as well as other types of income.

For tax purposes, gross income is total income required to be listed on a 1040, before adjustments for AGI.
