I am 5'3'' 118 pound. I am very higher active. I eat a lot of food. I used to eat as much as my love who is a college football player (6'3'' 225 pounds lol :)

Anyway, the problem is I always gain some weight (5-10 pounds) during the winter holidays. Then, I have to work hard to lose those weight during the spring and summer.

Please advice. How to manage my weight and my eating habbit during the winter holidays? Thank you so much.

There's two reasons why you gain weight:
1. The food is different from what you usually consume.
2. It's not as easy to be active in the winter (if it's cold where you're from).

The first reason could be the easiest to tackle. Think about the food you eat when you're not getting fat and eat that. If that's not a choice cut down on the food you eat when you typically do get fat and supplement the meal with low fat low calorie alternative (greens, water, etc.)
If that isn't an option the only thing you can do is work out harder to burn off the excess calorie intake.
good luck!

its always tough at the holidays cause everybody is bringing and eating cookies and candies where ever your go. since you dont want to deprive yourself of these goodies, you have to approach the holiday season prepared...

keeping a food diary helps to remind you of what you been eating all day and loosely keeping track of about how many calories you have been taking in helps. remember to drink lots of water, especially before meals and between meals as this will help keep you feeling full and will also help to move things through a little quicker. be sure to keep up your excercise routine and maybe hit the treadmill for a few extra minutes each day. chewing sugarless gum between meals also helps to cut down on snacking and actually burns calories, not much but some.

remember, you dont have to deprive yourself, but dont over do it either. good luck!

Winter time is hard, i think that most people eat more in the cold weather because we don't go out side as much. we stay inside.

First. in a morning have your breakfast, then drink a few glasses of water. lunch...the a few cup of water. then drink a hot drink. eat dinner and 2 glasses of water. water help fill you and it will also get rid of most of the fat in the food that you eat.

sit down and work yourself a menu for that day but linmt your self. I am 5.9 and 119 I have been this weight for 2 years now..haven't change at all. I still eat the food that i love but i limit myself. it works you just need to work at it. Do a few sit ups to keep yourself moving. I hope this helps. good look.

But don't push yourself to hard!

people tend to eat a lot during the holidays because there is so much food right in front of you. A trick is to eat something before you go to the party. Have a bowl of soup or a sandwich before you leave, so that when you get to the party, you will not be in the mood to eat. Plus, soup and sandwiches are healthy foods.

What worked for me, and this may sound strange, is eating beans. Black beans, garbanzo beans, but nothing re-fried. I'd load up on beans before I ate the holiday food. The beans filled me up with protein so I didn't feel like eating the bad stuff later. I put a bunch of garbanzo beans in a Tupperware and a little ranch dressing. Then I'd take it with me or eat it in the car before I got to my in-laws. Also, never drink sodas. The high fructose corn syrup makes your body feel like it's not full even when it is.

Drink more water. No high fructose anything. My grandma taught me to eat slowly to enjoy every bite of sweets. If you are hungry, eat slowly. You can eat as much as you want of fruits, veggies, and meat. Take the puppy for a walk a few times if you can. Limit how much bread and pizza you eat. You don't have to stay away from fats. They help you feel full.

Birth control pills may cause some weight gain.

I would say to try to avoid meats and dairy during the holidays. Not to mention all the cookies and crap that come with it. You'd be surprised how difficult it is for your body to digest meat, especially when you're under stress (which xmas is notorious for). That eggnog is bad news, too.

Also, a friend of mine complains of nervous snacking when she's around her family. So. Don't stuff your face to avoid talking to Uncle Weirdo.

Last, because it's (generally) more cold during Christmas, it may be hard to motivate yourself to get exercise outdoors. But think of it this way: if you're walking fast enough, even in the cold you can bust out in a sweat. Keep up that heart rate and good luck! :)

Eat salad, fish, and walk or go to the mall. Yah you do exercise and thats good. But is it really fun? Go to the mall, hang out with freinds, play sports, dance and stuff like that. So ur actually having fun and losing weight at the same time. Don't just exercise and let your social life to death. But if you do find exercising fun thats great! Keep it up! avoid junk foods like french fries, or chips- its okay once in awahile but everday can cause a lot of wieght problmes.

Use a smaller plate when eating - it will look filled up but have a lot less calories than a large plateful. Also, drink a full glass of water before eating to feel full faster.
