Here are some interesting numbers:
Waiting list candidates: 98,092 as of today 9:55pm
Transplants between January - September 2007 : 21,400 as of 12/07/2007
Donors between January - September 2007 10,847 as of 12/07/2007

As you can see - there are a lot of people waiting for organs and the demand far exceeds the supply. Thousands die annually waiting for donors.....

Too many. I can no longer be an organ doner due to cancer. It is sad because I planned on giving away all than can go to others...what am I going to do with it. My DH still can be an organ doner...good thing because he has THREE kidneys, the freak.
