~~~ One cigarette? What will you do with the other 19 that are left in the pack? When they're right there and you already got that one taste of an old familiar habit ,it's very easy to forget you don't use them anymore,and it can be hell to pay. Lately I've wanted just a little wine,you know ,to feel that warm glow. I haven't had any in a really long time.and it would be nice. But I won't because I know I only want to zonk out and go to sleep,and it'll be nice. And there's no chance in hell I'm going to start that habit again. So forget that cigarette,kick back and listen to some great Bob Marley music,and every little thing will be all right. ~~~
Natural Quit Smoking Magic
I wouldn't. I quit and start smoking squares all the time. I feel good once I quit but when I start again I like it also. Smoke some weed instead. Or drink more. If you smoke one than your gonna think it's o.k. to smoke once and a while and if you really want to quit you have to stop completely.
No - believe me, it's a slippery slope. Every time I quit smoking for a few weeks I have a weak spot while having a few drinks. Eventually the once and once only thought turns into "as long as I'm only having one with a drink, I can handle it" mentality... next thing you know, you're back to your old ways.
Stay strong and resist the urge. You know that if you give in you may very well start up again. Then the last six months will have been for nothing.
You asked this question so we could support you, and I am happy to do it!
Wine tastes better without the taste of cigarettes to mask the flavor anyway.
Congratulations on quitting. That is really something!
First I want to say that you are a real trooper for quiting. That is such good news for me to hear that someone stops smoking (even though I don't know you).
I think that you should not have a cigarette because "just one" can set off a chain reaction and you might become addicted to it. Instead, try alternatives like those nicotine patches or other drugs that help staying off the cigars. Ask your doctor. Good luck!
NO I quit to and I know the feeling it is hard when your drinking not to go back to bad habits but do not have even puff you'll start again. I don't know about you I quit back in May and the smell of them makes me nauseous so I do not know how you can stand to be around it.
DON'T DO IT!
Spent 4yrs of heavy drinking and heavy smoking, been 13 months smoke free, and when I get piss drunk, I still want a smoke, just a little bit, haven't given in yet, and if I can resist, you can resist.............remember all the money wasted, stinking, sore throats the next morning.....be strong, one cig may become a snow ball effect.....the thought of that scares me enough to resist the strongest of urges.....I feel the pain inside my man, be strong.
No, no, a thousand times, no. That's exactly how I got started again--thinking I could have only one.
