My neighbor has tacky Christmas decorations. They include 3 blow up lawn decorations (one blow up Santa, one blow up snowman and one snow globe)

They also have light up reindeer on their lawn, as well as a mixture of white lights and then colored lights.

It's extremely distasteful.

Another neighbor of my is extremely annoyed also.

Can we write an anonymous letter to them asking them to tone it down? What do people think?

Okay, how is this inconveniencing you in any way? Are their decorations so big that it's encroaching on your own lawn? If not, then leave them alone and mind your own business. It's attitude like yours that make me glad I don't have neighbors like you.

I have some neighbors like that and we just laugh because at the end of the month their electric bill is going to be through the roof. Honestly they only get to do this once a year for a month, let them do it. If they leave the lights on all night interrupting your sleep then maybe say something. Honestly though just leave them alone.

No way, leave them alone. Don't be a scrooge about it unless they leave them out/on outside of the appropriate time frame for Christmas lights, which is from the day after Thanksgiving (give or take, some people are a bit earlier) to no later than January 6th. If they leave them on and up outside of that time, contact your local neighborhood association or your local authorities. Remember, these people are your neighbors, word that you turned them in, wrote the letter, etc will get around. They will keep in mind what you did if your dog gets out, you leave your garage door open, your kids are doing something they shouldn't, etc, etc. Be glad you have festive neighbors and maybe instead of complaining you should join them, start a neighborhood tradtion and draw spectators to your area!!! Happy Holidays!!!

Over the top decor is just another joy of the season! Unless you have a hoa to slap them on the wrists, you are just s-o-l. An anon letter would likely just inspire them to pipe Christmas Carols out into the street( yep, we have a neighbor who does that). Falalalalalalalalfrigginla. :)

Did you and your other extrememly annoyed neighbor buy these things for them? Are you paying for their electric bills? The answer is probaly no. Its their hard earned money and their house. If I received a letter like the one you are considering I would light my yard for every holiday that came around. They do have blow up easter bunnies you know. You and your other neighbor remind me of my neighbors who think they run the neighborhood. The rest of the people on my street call them the Neighborhood Nazi's.

I made some papier mache doves and different shapes to grant as grants. shrink out the shapes you want out of cardboard, or extra effective nonetheless use the cardboard from cardboard drink programs, as this is extra water resistant and could carry its shape extra effective with the moist paste. For doves, or different 3-D shapes, you additionally could make the wings perpendicular to the physique/head piece as though it fairly is flying. With some concept you additionally could make 3-D fashions in any shape you want, or you're able to do purely 2-d shapes that are nonetheless effective. Stuff the shapes in case you want with some newspaper, to cause them to thicker and plumper (i.e. make 2 of each and every area out of the cardboard, and positioned bits of screwed up newspaper between them, then stick the sides with masking tape or different reliable tape). as quickly as you have made the main significant shape out of cardboard (or different fabric), make up some papier mache paste - you may get recipes online employing flour and water. then you definately can conceal the form with some layers of newspaper strips employing the paste. This makes a advantageous, gentle, relatively inflexible variety. enable it dry for an afternoon or 2 in a heat place. Then paint with acrylic paint.

ROFL! It's their house -- they can decorate any way they wish, as long as they are not violating any homeowner's association covenants.

It's only for a few weeks -- mellow out and smile. This isn't a "Home and Garden" decorating contest.

Frankly, the only ones that irritate me are the ones that leave their lights up all year long . . .

Oh for crying out loud, it's their house, they should be allowed to have whatever Christmas decoration they want. Besides, it's not going to be on their lawn forever. I suggest you and your *other* neighbor just mind your own business.

An anonymous letter is the act of a coward.
If you want to object put your name to the letter. It won't change anything, they will just label you as a grinch.
I don't like this kind of thing myself but I know as long as the c**p is legal I have to put up with it.

None of your business, unless they're playing some loud rock music - then you and the rest of the neighbours have a problem.
