A few people moved to the PS3 because of the red ring of death, but I think most people moved to the PS3 because 1. It's the better system, 2. the 40 gb version is now affordable for most people, and 3. the PS3 is beginning to get more and more better games.

Most people got the 360 last year because it was the cheaper of the true next gen systems. 600 bucks is quite a lot of money for anyone to spend on a system that barely had any good games. Then when Sony dropped the price to 500 bucks (around May 2007), more and more people were buying the PS3, but still, the PS3 didn't have that many good games, so some people were still reluctant to get a PS3. And finally when Sony introduced the 40 gb PS3 at 400 bucks, most people can afford it and the PS3 also started getting godo games, so more people are buying the PS3.

I've never owned any of the Xbox consoles, I've only owned the Playstation consoles, but I think that a lot of people have switched over to the PS3 because of the Red Ring of Death problem on the 360.

I've heard and seen a lot of 360 users on Youtube that had previously had 360's and they didn't like the PS3. But their 360's had hardware problems and they had to send in their consoles so many times that they got fed up with the hardware problems so they got a PS3 and ditched the 360 for good.

SOme did...Some moved because of the system itself has better gaming physics for games like call of duty 4, Dirt, etc...

Okay cool drama Since when does the ps3 have heating issues? THe new 360s with the cheaper to produce 65 chip still get the red ring of death!!!!
300,000 ps3s are running 24 hours a day because when gamers are gaming they are running a program called folding@Home for standford universities find a cure for cancer. And none of these ps3s have overheated.

yes sort of. i consider myself a gamer and i always try to get all the consoles. that way i can play good exclusives on each system. But i had way too much bad luck with the 360 that i will not buy it again. and i dont believe they solved the problem. like i tell everyone, the 360 would be a good system if it was made properly. i would like to play gears of war, but ill be damned if i am gonna spend 400 bucks on a system that might not break down. at least with my ps3 i know there will be no problems. its very well made. i try not to be a fanboy but the truth is i like the ps3 more than anything else.

Most people move to the PS3 because the 360 sucks regardless.
