I grew up in a Christian family. When I was old enough not to have to go to church with them, I didn't. I began doing whatever I wanted when I wanted. Drugs, stealing, alcohol, mostly out of rebellion I guess. Many years were like this, I thought being the "king" of my life would make me happy. It didn't, something was still missing. God got a hold of me somehow, I certainly wasnt looking for him. Anyway long story short I gave my life to Jesus. I would say Im a Christian now accept it no longer means what it use to. I am a follower of Christ.

Someone else answered similar to what I am going to, but I grew up in a Christian home, and around 14 I started doing things against what I was told. Basically I had a love for evil things. Porn, really bloody movies, swearing, bad music, to name the lesser of the things. And about 8 months ago, right after I turned 20, I started having thoughts about things. One was a strong urge to read the bible. I denied it over and over, then about 5 months ago, I started getting into things. Then after reading most of the letters paul wrote, and 2 of the Gospels, I changed my life completely. So I guess I converted from worldliness.

In christianity, there are many kinds of religion who claimed that they are christians b ut in truth they are false christians and they are on a false relgion.. There is only one true religion on earth and true christians are on this true religion.

Act 26:5 Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.
Gal 1:13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:
Gal 1:14 And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.
Jas 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
Jas 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Atheist for first 20 years of my life then had a supernatural experience that led to a form of New Age belief.
Later on, tons of research, study and prayer led me to Christ.

Roman Catholicism.

What led me out of that religion is God through my dad. My dad was a die-hard RC until the day the Lord saved Him; opened his eyes to see the truth about that religion. When my dad was saved, that's when the rest of my family and I were led out of the RC church and shown the way unto the truth. When my dad passed on almost six years ago, that's what brought me to the Lord. He used my dad's passing as a means of bringing me unto Him - saving me from eternal punishment - :). I have been saved for almost six years now and I thank the Lord for my salvation: the most precious gift anyone can receive in their life. :D

al_debus: I have news for you: the pope is NOT a christian! He is an antichrist - the leader of a cult religion! Roman Catholics and Christians are TWO DIFFERENT religions - I know because I was an RC, but NOW, am a born again Christian, thanks to the Lord!

I switched "flavours" of Christianity. I came from being raised Pentecostal and became Roman Catholic. I never stopped believing in God or Christ but the church I was raised in was so full of judgment and hate. I just could not reconcile that attitude with what God is.

So I became a Catholic. The Catholic church has changed a lot in the last few decades and the misconceptions about it just aren't true. Its a lot more loving and open and accepting, especially of other religions. I finally knew God loved me despite my sin instead of hating me because of it like I had learned growing up. The Catholic church is also more open to science and discovery, which is quite important to me.

****Summer_Breeze: You must have joined a very hard core fundamentalist group. Most Protestant Christian groups acknowledge that not only are Catholics Christians, it was the first Christian institution. Trust me, I went through RCIA. I know more about the Church than most cradle Catholics.

I know numerous people who have converted from Christianity to Islam, yet in my journeys I have yet to meet a man or women who have changed their religious belief to Christianity.

Without criticizing distinct religious beliefs, let me allow you to understand why Christianity's influence has slowly deteriorated:

The main Christian Churches (note: not Christian because there are many generous, humble Christians) became a power-seeking machine and sought to oppress intellectuals, scientists, and writers.

The Catholic Church still doesn't encourage scientists to study the universes' beginning.

I WOULD NEVER EVER CONVERT TO CHRISTIANITY!

It's inconstant, all over the place, full of hypocrites(the Pope), full of hatred(most faithful christians hate people from other religious backgrounds and are close-minded with tons of rules burdening them), etc.

It's illogical. there are no explanations. they create mysteries themselve and don't know how to solve them.
