i was a practicing Endowed Elder in the LDS church for almost 20 years. i faithful to the core. i was sleep deprived continuously for 13 years, in and out of the church. The worst poison i ever had to breath was in the baptist church. but the lds church was just as bad. When Bro G judged me to not be a Mormon, i wouldve emailed him right away. i admit that his words hurt me to the wounding of my testimony. i guess he never read any parts of my questions and understood my testimony. So can anyone else who is a mormon hurt me to the wounding of my sould any more than he has?

so far all answers seem to say "brush it off" a few say the wound is already there.
my point for the question, is not my inactivity but the peircing of false accusation that i am not a mormon.
maybe im not. But i think i studied the church for most of my life to the goal of gaining a witness and a pure testimony.
there are many doctrines that the church does not allow to be taught and many more that are not known. this in itself does not make the church false or joseph smith testimony untrue. i believe almost everything i studied in the doctrines and history of the church, there are only a few things i still question. a few contradictions of tradition and cult practices, but this is common for every church and religion. Satan usurps even the best truth sometimes.

Don't let the words of one person affect you so much. I have met several people who stopped going to church because they were offended by someone else at church. What a waste. People need to stop holding grudges and forgive, and others need to be less offensive. Keep in mind, it is hard to know exactly where people are coming from on this forum. People sometimes make a judgment based on a few words that someone has typed. Perhaps in your situation, Bro G made a conclusion based on something you wrote. Was there any reason for him to draw that conclusion? (I don't know, because I missed the entire conversation, whatever it was). I have seen many comments posted on this forum, by various Mormons, which I considered to be rude, insensitive, and incorrect. Just remember, people are people, and no one is perfect. If you have an issue with Bro G, then try to work it out with him. Sometimes the worst of enemies can become the best of friends when both parties are willing to reconcile.

Well I didn't catch the first part of this story I'm sure but what is this about being sleep deprived for 13 years. I have never found that to be a part of Mormon doctrine.
Sounds like you don't have a testimony of the Church as a body; what do you have a testimony of? Let no words or deeds of mortal man wound your soul. Rather, allow the Holy Spirit to guide and comfort.

this is actually the reason I hardly ever answer anything on here, cause some people are so hurtful. why do you go to church? is it because of the people? if it is then you will always be hurt. I go because of Jesus, and that has kept me in the church even when I wish the ward/branch members would get drowned in some ocean. there are not nice people in any congregation, but you can make it, just pray every time you feel like cursing
and I agree, those on here who do not allow email or im contact and then speak mean things, are just cowards, how ever they appear to others

Just let his words shake off like dust from your feet. Just like it talks about in the Bible. So, I'm confused, are you still in the LDS church? Or the Baptist either one? If you have a testimony about the LDS church then don''t worry about him.Pray for him! As crazy as that sounds, its in the scriptures.

The fact that your testimony was hurt by someone who you've never met on a forum such as Yahoo Answers kinda tells me that you need to evaluate what you really believe. But first it sounds to me that you have serious self esteem issues you need to work out with a professional, since reacting that way to a total stranger is pretty irrational behavior. Second, God gave man free will. Meaning you choose how things affect you - You choose to be happy or sad - You choose if things hurt you. I suggest you choose to get help to help you get happy .

Brigham Young once said, "He who takes offense when offense was not the intention is a fool, but he who takes offense when offense was intended is a greater fool."
Taking offense is a personal choice that is not in harmony with the gospel of Jesus Christ. When you become offended, you judge the intentions of others, you harbor ill feelings towards your brethren, and you with hold forgiveness.
I am sorry that you feel that you have been hurt. The decision to remain offended, however, is yours. Take the next steps, repent and forgive. This will bring healing as opposed to the bitterness you feel by hanging onto your perceived offense.
Good luck.

Robert, you sound very bitter. I am sorry if people of the church have hurt you. They hurt me too. But you should always remember that Christ's gospel is perfect; however, the PEOPLE are not. People are fallible. It wasn't until I realized that simple truth of the world that I was able to see the perfection in the gospel. Humans make mistakes. Humans sin. But the Christ's Gospel always has been and always will be perfect.

Besides picking out your bad grammar? Jk.
You need to let this go, you cannot blame others for the "woulding of your testimony". That's like if you were going to Heaven and Jesus was talking to you and you said "It's not my fault I killed that little girl, Jimmy over there was pressuring me to do it!" That isn't going to fly with Jesus because you're responsible for your own actions, no one else is repsonsible for you.

Why were you sleep deprived? What did that have to do with your being a member of the church?

Somethings are definite wrong.
A man cannot be condemned by one man.
2or 3 witnesses are required.
Search for the Truth and you shall find it!
