I just finished doing a search on YA and there are a whole lot of posts about Dan Fogelberg's passing, and I actually read through most of them and the majority, like me, have been very touched by him over the years. I actually posted a message on YA last night around 11:00 after I read about it while I was online. I can't even imagine a world without him and any new music that I'm sure he would have written. Fortunately we will always have the music he did create while he was with us. My younger years are filled with memories of his incredible music. I don't really remember exactly how or where I "discovered" him - I like to think he discovered me. He so touched me. Even though I didn't know him personally, I feel like he knew me because the way he wrote was just the way I thought and felt. His kind of talent is almost non-existent anymore. As far as I'm concerned, he is one of the most gifted and talented artists of my generation. Such a beautiful human being. The world is less now. My heart is hurting.

Sorry he is gone, listened to many tunes and laid back. Wish he would have used resveratrol. It is good for the different pathways for that cancer and also proven by MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston to help with chemo (Japnaese also). Have a friend that was given 3 months to live and started taking it and that was over two years ago. It is also like Viagra and I take it instead of Celbrex and Vioxx. A fellow here had what he had and would not take the stuff and it's made at the oldsouthwinery.com, he's gone.

Anyway the Lord loves a musician, so he is in good company. take care.

OMGosh!

I hadn't heard. Yes, I will still my keyboard for a moment in remembrance of his great talent, sure...

Leader Of The Band

An only child alone and wild, a cabinet maker's son
His hands were meant for different work
And his heart was known to none
He left his home and went his lone and solitary way
And he gave to me a gift I know I never can repay
A quiet man of music denied a simpler fate
He tried to be a soldier once, but his music wouldn't wait
He earned his love through discipline-- a thundering, velvet hand
His gentle means of sculpting souls took me years to understand
(Chorus)
The leader of the band is tired and his eyes are growing old
But his blood runs through my instrument and his song is in my soul
My life has been a poor attempt to imitate the man
I'm just a living legacy to the leader of the band
My brothers' lives were different for they heard another call
One went to Chicago and the other to St Paul
And I'm in Colorado when I'm not in some hotel
Living out this life I've chose and have come to know so well
I thank you for the music and your stories of the road
I thank you for the freedom when it came my time to go
I thank you for the kindness and the times when you got tough
And, papa, I don't think I said 'I love you' near enough
(Chorus)
I am a living legacy to the leader of the band

Answer: Request granted! I waited a day to answer.
I mentioned this to my wife when I first saw your question, she sang an Ole Ang zie (terrible sp) song...I was surprised she remembered all the words...She said,Old Hippie here, Loved the Eagles...
I guess she is correct on that.
