Jehovah's Witnesses certainly do not proclaim some apocalyptic jeremiad, and they do not use such slogans as "the world is coming to an end". In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses look to Armageddon with hope, understanding that God will leave intact the earth, millions of humans, and some measure of existing infrastructure. Witnesses do believe the bible to teach that Armageddon seems likely to occur in their lifetimes, and perhaps in just a few years or months.

The bible explicitly says that "the conclusion of the system of things" would be associated with Christ's "presence" (the so-called "second coming"). Christians were reminded again and again to endure to 'Christ's presence', which the bible also calls 'the Lord's day'.

(1 Corinthians 5:4-5) In the name of our Lord Jesus, when you are gathered together... saved in the day of the Lord.

(1 Thessalonians 5:23) May the very God of peace sanctify you completely... be preserved in a blameless manner at the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(1 Corinthians 1:7,8) you are eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will also make you firm to the end, that you may be open to no accusation in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(Matthew 24:3) The disciples approached [Jesus] privately, saying: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?”

Note that Matthew 24:3 (and other Scriptures) connect Christ's presence with "the conclusion of the system of things". Matthew chapter 24, Mark chapter 13, and Luke chapter 21 plainly enumerate a list of signs that would indicate that "the Lord's day", "Christ's presence", the beginning of "the conclusion of the system of things" had begun (see also 2 Tim 3:1-5 and Dan 2:28;10:14).

(Matthew 24:3-14,27) What will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?” And in answer Jesus said to them: “Look out that nobody misleads you; for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. You are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that you are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet. “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress. “Then people will deliver you up to tribulation and will kill you, and you will be objects of hatred by all the nations on account of my name. Then, also, many will be stumbled and will betray one another and will hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and mislead many; and because of the increasing of lawlessness the love of the greater number will cool off. But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved. And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come. ...so the presence of the Son of man will be.

(Mark 13:4-13) What will be the sign when all these things are destined to come to a conclusion?” So Jesus started to say to them: “...when you hear of wars and reports of wars, do not be terrified; these things must take place, but the end is not yet. “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, there will be earthquakes in one place after another, there will be food shortages. These are a beginning of pangs of distress. ...Also, in all the nations the good news has to be preached first. ...and you will be objects of hatred by all people on account of my name. But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved.

(Luke 21:7-28) Then they questioned [Jesus], saying: “Teacher, when will these things actually be, and what will be the sign when these things are destined to occur?” He said: “...when you hear of wars and disorders, do not be terrified. For these things must occur first, but the end does not occur immediately.” Then he went on to say to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be great earthquakes, and in one place after another pestilences and food shortages... I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your opposers together will not be able to resist or dispute. ...you will be objects of hatred by all people because of my name. ...By endurance on your part you will acquire your souls. ...And then they will see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. But as these things start to occur, raise yourselves erect and lift your heads up, because your deliverance is getting near.”

Of course, the composite sign cannot define any specific date, so Christians are obliged to continue to care for family obligations and other practicalities of life. But Christians cannot be complacent!

(Mark 13:32-35) Concerning that day or the hour nobody knows, neither the angels in heaven nor the Son, but the Father. Keep looking, keep awake, for you do not know when the appointed time is. ...Therefore keep on the watch

(Luke 21:34-36) But pay attention to yourselves that your hearts never become weighed down with overeating and heavy drinking and anxieties of life, and suddenly that day be instantly upon you as a snare. For it will come in upon all those dwelling upon the face of all the earth. Keep awake

The Scriptures also teach plainly that most humans would be obliviously preoccupied with the mundane, and thus would be caught unawares.

(Matthew 24:36-39) Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father. For just as the days of Noah were, so the presence of the Son of man will be. For as they were in those days before the flood, eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark; and they took no note until the flood came and swept them all away, so the presence of the Son of man will be.

Of course, the bible teaches that God and Christ step in to correct all the problems facing mankind, and usher in a paradise of peace and true worship. Perhaps the most tragic is that so-called Christendom ignores this plain teaching of Christ Jesus himself.

1914..no wait...1925.....no wait...1975....oh yea, no one knows the day or the hour.

Our bad. Hey, you're not quiting us because we made a few bad call???? Quiter!! Apostate!!!!

HEY, ACTUNG, look up here:

Watchtower, 12/1/05, PG 3: "Since the Bible links Armageddon with “the end of the world,” would you not agree that it is vital to have a clear understanding of what the word really signifies? (Matthew 24:3, King James Version)

Watchtower, 2/1/98 pg 24 "Dad said that the people publishing these books were called Bible Students and that, according to them, we were living in “the last days.” (2 Timothy 3:1-5) He explained that the earth would not be destroyed at the end of the world but that under God’s Kingdom it would be turned into a paradise. (2 Peter 3:5-7, 13; Revelation 21:3, 4) That sounded really interesting to me."

Watchtower 10/15/95 "But long ago Jesus marked, or pointed to, our time. He was responding to the apostles’ questions about his presence and the conclusion of the system of things, or ‘the end of the world.’—Matthew 24:3."

They use the phrase "end of the World". How is this differant from "the world is coming to an end"?

It will occur when "'the good news will be preached in all the earth". - Matt 24:14

What we need to keep in mind is that there is a difference between the conclusion and the end. There is two different Greek words for each. Telos means the absolute end, and so is simply translated as "the end." Whereas, syntelia means "conclusion," which has the connotation of a concluding period.

Jesus emphasized that the sign of his presence and the conclusion was not the sign of the end.

For example, Christ said that there would be wars and rumors of war, "but the end is not yet." In the next verse, Jesus further stressed that nation warring against nation and the earthquakes and food shortages were merely "a beginning of pangs of distress."

Jesus' prophecy calls for global persecution of the preachers of God's kingdom, on a scale that we simply have never experienced.

During that time of persecution Jesus said that his disciples would be hauled before kings and governors, but that when we are brought before such officials, we shouldn't be anxious.

When the good news of God's kingdom is preached to them for all the world to see then the end will come.

Some time after the World Empire of False Religion falls :)

No one knows for sure. When Jesus was on earth, he didn't even know (a good argument against the trinity).

Matthew 24:36-39 "“Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 For just as the days of Noah were, so the presence of the Son of man will be. 38 For as they were in those days before the flood, eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark; 39 and they took no note until the flood came and swept them all away, so the presence of the Son of man will be."

The Bible does not tell us the day or the time of Armageddon.
It does however, provide us with prophecies that help us to discern where we are in the stream of time.
We do know from fulfillment of various prophecies that the end of this system is very close.
When Jehovah God is satisfied that the witnessing work has been done to his satisfication,he will then bring about this wicked systems end.
It is still not too late for you to study the Bible with Jehovah's people and come to an accurate knowledge of Jehovah God and thereby establish a relationship with our wonderful heavenly father.

Read this in your Bible;
2Timothy 1-5.But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away.
Matteo24:14 And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
When this is accomplished ,this world, not the earth, will came to a sudden end.
Only JEHOVAH and Jesus Christ have this knowledge.
Be ready!!!

I am not a JW but the end of the "fleshly age" is at the "7th trumpet."

1Cr 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

sleep=die, we won't all die a flesh death.

1Cr 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

last trumpet is the 7th
changed from our fleshly bodies to our spiritual bodies.

1Cr 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

The corruptible(fleshly body) must put on incorruption(spiritual body)

mortal is always talking about souls, your mortal(liable to die) soul must put on incorruption (aphtharsia) which is deathlessness.

1Cr 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Death is swallowed up because it has none.
