The Bible teaches that it is not money but love of money that is the problem. The believer has to remember that all he has comes from God. Becoming prideful about it or greedy or clinging to it is simply wrong.
What is taught in churches varies from church to church, though the health-and-wealth teachers are on television the most. An authentic interpretation of the Bible does not teach that. You really have to stand a verse on its head and spin it around twice to get it to say anything close.

Pentacostal churches here teach about heaven on earth, getting very wealthy. That's why they're doing so well in African missions.
