I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, prolapsed disc and a few other problems. I took up Pilate's, it is exercise, strengthens the core muscles keeping the spine stable. Mind you it was only one one hour session once a week and I was exhausted after it. I almost threw the towel in, but nine months later, it has helped me, helped the Arthritis and health. What I enjoyed was the fact you use your own body weight, nothing else to strengthen the muscles. However they did not put me on the Pilate's Ball, due to the Arthritis. This was all floor exercise, so when I got down, I stayed down for the hour, easy on the knees. Good Luck

Yoga! Low impact...high benefits!

or Water Aerobics.....that will take the stress off of your joints. The YMCA has classes!

resistance is the best I've found. I have limited mobility and it is hard to do most other type of toning exercises
