No.
God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them: "Be fertile and multiply and fill the earth. Dread fear of you shall come upon all the animals of the earth and all the birds of the air, upon all the creatures that move about on the ground and all the fishes of the sea; into your power they are delivered. Every creature that is alive shall be yours to eat; I give them all to you as I did the green plants. (Genesis 9:1-3)
The Catholic Church teaches:
+ It is a sin to cause animals to suffer or die needlessly.
+ It is not a sin to kill animals with as little suffering as possible for food, clothing, and the health and safety of humans.
+ Medical and scientific experimentation on animals is a morally acceptable practice if it remains within reasonable limits and contributes to caring for or saving of human lives.
For more information, see Catechism of the Catholic Church, sections 2415-2418 and following: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt3sect2chpt2art7.htm#2415
With love in Christ.

Regarding animals, yes, they do. We humans are animals, just the species most highly evolved currently. Therefore, eating them and treating them with an utter lack of respect seems wrong, seeing as they feel emotion, don't you think? As for the Catholic/Christian religion, it might not be against Christianity, but I can't say for sure. I am an atheist, after all.

Of course they have feelings. But some religions think they don't have a soul. I can't possibly see how people can believe it if they've ever spent time with an animal. I've seen incredible acts of bravery and kindness from animals. I believe Catholics think this. Mormons believe they have a soul, I used to be one.

Is it against the Catholic religion to think that animals have feelings? Er... no, they're allowed to think. Catechism says that animals have souls, but not on the same order as humans and angels.

The Catholics-I'm one-believe animals have feelings. They don't believe animals have souls and I believe that is because they really don't have free will and the ability to make judgements. I personally believe that we will see animals in heaven as well as plants-who also don't have souls.

Absolutely not. Catholics/Christians simply believe that humans are the superior beings on Earth. I am a catholic and a vegetarian.

Of course they have feelings just like we do. Everything even a roach values it's life as much as you do.
When we had roaches and I went into the kitchen to turn on the light they scattered and ran and hid. That told me they had fear. When we rescued a cat and she was so wild and scared. They feel fear and we tamed her and hugged her with gloves on at first. she began to love us and look to us to save her. she followed me around the house to try and get my attention.
I have seen dogs die when their master did he grieved himself to death. Even wild animals are tamed and show love. Humans are the only animals that kill when they are not hungry. Maybe they have no conception of a future date.
They don't sit down and think, when I grow up I want to have two children and have sex and find a mate. So, I don't feel guilty when I have them fixed so they can't have babies.
Nor do they sit and think I wonder what heaven is like? Is there a God?
I always remember the cartoon of two fish in a bowl and one says to the other: "what do you mean their is no God? who feeds us?" God wanted us to have something to look to us for help. But, God takes care of us.

All religious text can be interpreted various ways, as proven by anti-gay supporters and other religious groups. If someone wants to teach that the bible says it is unethical to believe animals have feelings, then they will find text to support their claim.
What you should do is find text within your bible to support the claim that all animals have feelings. This way when some one challenges your statement you can quote the bible and feel confident in your belief.
