Let's say you are applying for a job at a resturant or retail store, are filling out the application nealty and with correct spelling. On the application, one the the questions are, "Why would you like to work for this company?"

If you write, "I am in desprit need of a job and a source of income, and would also love to become a team member." Would writing that on an application turn off the employer from interviewing/hiring that job applicant?

Not to be rude, but in the words of Dr. Phil, "Are ya kiddin' me?" Spelling aside, that application would be in the recycling bin just by what is written.

That would sound a little too desperate. I would seriously think harder about why I really want to work there, what I would get out of it, and what skills I can bring to the company, etc.

Absolutely no one would hire you because you need money. You need to check your spelling too. Try looking on line at some resumes etc. and get ideas from cover letters what's appropriate to say or write.
