Sony A200 are fantastic cameras. Usually around £300? May have come down slightly (xmas/winter sales). They have many different settings- sunset, darkness, auto, manual, sports and more. They are not too big or heavy, and the lenses are very very good quality. I study A level photography and i have this camera and it is fantastic. It is simple and easy to use, gets great quality photos and suits every need! OR I would suggest the Nikon D40, which is more or less the same price (around £300) :) Again, it produces very high quality images, great lense, multiple settings and is ideal for anyone wanting to get into photography hope this helps!

The following were reviewed in the Dec. 2007 issue of Shutterbug Magazine. You can read them on-line at shutterbug.com
"How Digital Photography Works, Second Edition" by Ron White
"Hands-On Digital Photography" by George Schaub
"The Joy of Digital Photography" by Jeff Wignall
I also recommend "Object & Image: An Introduction to Photography, Third Edition" by George M. Craven.

If you want to make money at it, Photographers' Market 2008 is a good book to have. It's at Amazon and major bookstores.
Hope this helps.
